  • Banks etc often offer a 12 month bond/ISA rate of, say, 1.5% + 2% bonus for first 12 months. If you forget to switch to a different rate you drop to the lower figure after the offer period.
They should write to you 6 weeks before the expiry of the offer period, offering to switch you to the next best one available automatically, or offering you the chance to cash in or move the money elsewhere.
  • It.s quite easy really amongst other things let's do what other countries do don't let immigrants in to just take our money jobs and houses. Make sure they have a job. Money and a property to rent. Why should us tax payers pay for them. Also make it more difficult for the none genuine British benefit claimants. And finally stamp down more on drugs. Our government are too easy going on what is ruining our country.:T[/well done, if only it would happen]
  • Money that local councils raise from car parking fees and fines should be ring fenced by law and re-invested in repairing roads, pavements and cycle routes within that council areas. This would ensure that tax payers would see the benefits.
  • Reduce VAT back to 15% (or even lower). Automatically make the cost of living cheaper for everyone, and encourage people back to the struggling High Street. The more people spend, the more VAT receipts the government gets, if no one is spending then they are not getting the extra 2.5% anyway!
  • Stop all overseas aid & use the money to improve the NHS/Schools/OAP care

Scrap road tax & set a small toll on all motorways to raise revenue

Have all MP's perform one weeks REAL work experience to see what it is like in the real world

Would someone sort out the EU !???

This has to stop. We are struggling financially as it is , now we are being forced out our homes by charging for an extra room that we cannot afford.
PLEASE PLEASE stop and use some of the other idea's on here to get money into the country, don't penalize us anymore we cannot cope. :(

The government shouldn't be allowed to get away with this, they can make money in other ways, the whole country should stand up and boycott it, but no politicians are there to support us!

Round all weekly/4-weekly benefits up/down to the nearest whole £. Millions of letters are about to be sent out to inform claimants across the country that their benefit has gone up by 70p. More frustrating is when tax credits send all correspondence twice to partners living at the same address. What a waste.

  • We don't charge drivers from abroad (eg haulage companies) to use our roads. Go to France/Spain etc and it costs a fortune to use their toll roads/bridges. Short of introducing road tolls (no thank you!), simply charge any vehicle visiting the country a fixed fee (eg £10 for a car, £25 a van, £50 a lorry). It could take the form of a temporary permit, and be collected by the ferry/tunnel companies who remit to HMRC (after taking an admin fee).
  • Twice in 3 years, I have had car windows cracked on the motorway, from uncovered trucks ahead, with gravel bouncing off the top. The stones that hit my screens probably damaged lots of other cars as well. We need legislation for loose materials on moving vehicles to be securely covered.

  • Provide free school meals for all school children and fund it by cutting family allowance this way the children get the full benefit of a decent real meal each school day and the money is not spent on drink or tobacco.
