Sainsburys are not registered for feed in tariffs and as I am thinking of installing solar panels I cannot switch to them.0

Their Fixed Feb 2016 came top for me to switch on CEC - But I don't like the idea of a £60 exit fee, when EON is £10, and EDF & Npower are free.
Anyone else think the early exit fee is a bit steep?0 -
I am with British Gas and have a smart meter and a home hub to allow me to control my heating over WiFi. Does anybody know if Sainsbury will use the smart meters in the same way as BG please?0

Hi
I am in my first year of owning a flat and have never paid utility bills before this, and I am a little confused about the Sainsbury's Discount Fix Feb 2016 (dual fuel) which is one of the tariffs available in the MSE Collective switch. It apparently will save me approx £105 a year, but when I check the full list of fixed tariffs there is the Sainsburys Price Freeze Feb 2016 which will save me £135 a year.
The difference between them seems to be a lower standing charge. The Price Freeze tariff is more expensive per KW/h. Is there any advantage to me switching to the Discount Fix as part of the collective switch when the Price Freeze will save me more? Should I be looking at both the standing charge and the price per KW/h or just at the price per KW/h? I assume I should look at both, but then why is the Discount Fix being touted as by far the cheapest deal when if you take into account the standing charge it isn't? I'm sure I must be missing something blindingly obvious but I can't work out what?0 -
Is it as simple as if I use more fuel next year than is projected I will pay more on the Price Freeze tariff than on the Discount Fix?0

Hi, does anyone know, Is it possible to sign up for the dual fuel switch and then within a short period switch to a separate gas supplier and just leave the Electricity with Sainsbury? or will that affect the electricity tariff?0

I applied to switch a few days ago, and have just had letters demanding deposits the equivalent of one month's energy bills. I've used quite a few suppliers, and have never been asked to do this. I have always paid by direct debit, and never been in arrears or owed money. Is this normal practice?0

The other thing that confuses me is if there are an expected 60,000 people swapping where are they discussing it ? I expected a general thread with masses of comments/discussion but i cant seem to find it - is it just broken down into individual suppliers or am I missing it ?0 -
I have been asked for £120 an £90 deposits - not behind on any credit payments
When i spoke to Sainsburys they said it was a new thing to credit check everyone and it was a totally automated process
What a disgrace - will not be moving to Sainsburys ...
