If you on a Sainsburys Energy Fixed product then you can switch to their latest Fixed Feb 2016 via Cheapenergyclub, then you will not be charged exit fees and will get cashback, according to cheapenergyclub.moneysavingexpert.com/collectiveswitch
Existing customers of all suppliers can switch to one of the collective switch tariffs via Cheap Energy Club, plus we've specially arranged for you to get the cashback on these tariffs too. You won't be able to switch to the MSE tariffs directly with the supplier though. Plus, if you're with Sainsbury's Energy or Green Star Energy you won't pay early exit fees even if they're due. .0 -
Oh no. I was thinking of applying for dual fuel with Sainsbury's Energy and had just today cancelled my switch to OVO Energy!
I don't mind about the credit check but would not be happy with them asking for a deposit. Have to rethink now....
Still trying to get my head round this switching lark....not easy innit..0 -
hm, just switched then began to read this - can I cancel switch if needed?
i read their terms and conditions and seems they can ask for a deposit if they see it fit.0 -
I moved to them last year.. I switch a lot to get the best price and I have to admit it was one of the best for me.0

Re Sainsbury Energy, for example, can we have access to the calculated prices. My calculation model shows a £10 and £17 underestimate for electric and gas respectively for medium usage. Have I missed out a DD discount??0

Have read the mass switching offer and would like to know the prices Sainsbury's Energy (the winner) offer per kW for both gas and electricity. The prices they show online are pretty much the same as my current provider's and cannot result in the MSE estimated figure if over 20% savings. Did MSE negotiated a lower tariff and if so what are the figures?0

If somebody gives me Martin Lewis's address I send him a calculator.About two thirds of my bill is gas which is 13% cheaper than Sainsbury's (3.443 as against 3.94). True, electricity is 5% more expensive but it is only one third of my overall bill (12.18 as againts 11.65). My calculation is that I am 8% better off staying with ED, according to Martin Lewis I am some 23% better of switching. Can somebody please tell me how they arrived to their figures.0

In Post 52 Locky123 states that you can switch without exit fees and get cashback if you're switching tariff via the cheapenergyclub but not switching suppliers.
I switched from BG to Sainsburys Energy in December, onto their Fixed November 2015 dual fuel tariff. CEC is now saying their Discount February 2016 tariff would be £184pa cheaper - plus £30 cashback. If I can do this without paying the £60 exit fees from my current tariff, it's a no-brainer - but that sounds too good to be true!
So - can I really (via CEC) switch to the Discount Feb 2016 tariff without paying the exit fee, yet get the benefit of lower prices and cashback??0 -
I'm on a 6m old Ovo fixed contract and I'd save about 96p/ month, not enough to warrant the agro or exit charges!
Sainsbury's is:
Gas:
Unit rate 3.392p per kWh
Standing charge 21.000p per day
Electric:
Unit rate
13.062p per kWh
Economy 7 unit rate 3.833p per kWh
Standing charge 21.000p per day
The SC and E7 rates are less, I can only imagine they think I use more % of E7 electricity.0 -

Coincidentally I have today done just that, switching from the Fixed Nov 2015 to the Fixed Feb 2016 tariff as I calculate for me it will save about £100 or 8% over the next 13 months. I did it directly with Sainsburys and as I am staying with them there will not be any financial penalty applied. I cannot comment about any CEC cashback though as they have not been involved.0
