Hi Malc,
Just went through with the deal.
Thanks for your answer earlier on.
In the meantime, shall I set up a Direct Debit for my variable rate?
When I moved in and gave the meter reading for both energy to E.ON.
I went for the variable rate, your workmate asked me to set up the Direct Debit after a week to get a lower rate.
Thanks a million,

My current supplier (EDF) doesn't seem to report to the credit reference agencies, which suits me fine, not that ive missed any payments, but that I don't want the risk of another company putting anything against my credit file incase I make a silly mistake, then I would be punished for 6 years for it.
I Was just about to sign up to the E.ON Money Saving Expert deal, but it was upon reading the T&C's that put me off so I didn't proceed.0 -
Cannot fault EOn so far .
They took over my electric only ( V9 tariff ) on 17/10/2014 and so far no problems.
Had the £12 Government rebate and my £145 Warm Home Discount credited already !0 -
The Cheap Energy Club has shown me that the EON fixed deal will save me a fair amount over the next year. However, before I go through the sign on/transfer from my supplier pages, can anyone tell me the following?
My current tariff ends on 1 December 2015, but there is a hefty penalty for early termination. Does the EON transfer system allow you to set a date for the transfer? Thus avoiding the penalty.0 -

Makes a no-goer for me then despite quite nice saving.
I do not have anything to hide as pay by DD without any problems but am not keen on feeding those leaches (no apologies for my words) from CRAs with any more data about me. They are not there to help you (as they advertise themselves).
Am staying with EDF0 -
Hello, I desperately want to change energy supplier and am considering Eon (seem to come out top quite often when I do a comparison).
I've had massive problems with my current supplier as I use Economy 7 (storage heaters) and their new system they installed couldn't cope with having 4 different electricity readings! So they've all had to be done manually which means waiting nearly a year for a bill after moving house ...
Anyhow, can anyone tell me if Eon have similar problems or do meter readings go through no problem and bills produced on a quarterly basis? Can you phone in meter readings? If you opt for an online account, can you only submit them that way as opposed to over the phone?
Have tried phoning (usually after work I must admit), but never get through to anyone and give up after 10 mins or so!!0 -
I switched to an online Eon account and have had no problems. I enter my readings every month and they produce a statement twice a year. All discounts have been given on time along with Tesco clubcard points claimed online and you can change your DD if you are not happy with it.
Eon stick to the monthly DD and don't alter it without telling you first like some other companies mentioned on MSE.
They notify me of new deals promptly so I can change if I wish and I would advise anyone not sure about it to manage their account online and I have not regretted the change to online management at all.
Also for anyone on Pension Credit etc Eon give the Warm Home discount which not all providers give.0 -
Oh my head is spinning! ! Have been calling eon for 4 weeks trying to resolve wrong information on credit file. I have a late payment for aug, 1 for sept and a DEFAULT for October 14. I pay quarterly. They have received payments every month, so this is wrong.. so eventually today eon said i was late paying LAST novembers bill by 1 month so they've put a default on now?? The eon lady is looking into it....seriously can they do this, put late payment s on now from nearly a year ago. Im confused :S
Hi debbiegf and sorry for the late reply. I'm running a fair way behind at the moment.
Amy's replied to a similar post from you on another MSE Forum. Thought I'd just post the link below.

Hi HawkFun and sorry for the late reply.
Must admit, not sure what my colleague meant. You can set up a Monthly Direct Debit whenever you like.
If you've registered with our website, you can set it up there. The relevant screen will tell you what we estimate you'll need to pay each month. This is to achieve as near as possible to a zero balance by the time of the annual review.
As soon as you set up the Monthly Direct Debit, you'll start to receive lower Daily Standing Charges.
There's also a facility on our website to give you more control over these payments. It's called the Direct Debit Manager and comes in handy should your circumstances change.
Provided the account is billed up to the latest meter readings, you can alter the payments by up to 20 per cent up or down. By up to 5 per cent up or down without readings.
Before confirming the change we'll let you know by how much we anticipate the account will be in credit/debit if the change is made but usage doesn't alter accordingly.
Hope this helps Hawkfun and sorry again about the late reply.
