Thanks Malc if I put through the switch now with mse cheap energy club collective tarrif would that effect the switch that I have done previous ie v9 tarrif which commences with eon on the 6th November?

    Hi warmy

If you go for the MSE Fixed 1 Year Collective Switch, this will replace the Fixed 1 Year version 9 tariff you opted for when you started the change of supplier.

I believe applications to the Cheap Energy Club for this tariff can take up to 4 days to reach us.

After this, it's currently taking us another 3 days to change the tariff. This is because these changes are being done manually by a separate team.

It may be your account will go live before we're able to put you on the MSE Collective Switch tariff. If this happens, you'll start on the version 9 tariff and then move to the MSE Collective Switch tariff once we're able to put it through.

If the account goes live after we've received notification about the MSE Collective Switch tariff, you'll go straight on to it.

I'm speculating rather a lot here warmy and the times above may vary but hope it gives you a general impression of what to expect.

    Hi warmy

That's fine. You can switch to version 12 but you'll need to wait until the account goes live. At the moment, version 9 will be locked in as this is the tariff you agreed to come over to us on.

If you phone us once the account is live, we'll switch the tariff. The change will go through immediately. There's no charge for doing this.

You can also do this through our website if you wish. Again, the account will need to be live. You'll need to register with the website too.

    Hope this helps warmy.

    Hi Jackthedog / Warmy /others

Did you manage to make the switch from E-On to E-On?

I’m also in the process of doing the same.

However I received the following email from E-On:

Why not give us a call so we have a look at tariffs for you ? We have just launched E.ON Fixed 1YR V12 which could save you over £200 a year. This tariff is likely to be very popular and can be withdrawn at any time.
As you see they’ve started a new tariff yesterday called ‘E.ON Fixed 1YR V12’.

They’re saying they can save me ‘over £200’.

When I’d put my estimate usage on ‘MSE Cheap Energy Club Collective Tariff’ they said ‘Hurrah! You could save £296 a year! plus cashback of £30.’

I find this really strange that without leaving E-On I can make a considerable saving !!!

    Hi Cobra

Just thought I'd pop on and try to clear up any confusion with the new tariffs.

As an E.ON customer, you don't need to go down the change of supplier route to go on to either of the tariffs you mention.

If you opt for the MSE Collective Switch tariff, you'll need to go through MSE's Cheap Energy Club. We're not allowed to do this for you.

You can switch to the Fixed 1 Year version 12 product straightaway. This can be done either through our website (you'll need to register if you haven't already done this) or by phoning us.

To be sure of the potential savings, I'd pop your usage in kWh on to the independent comparison sites. These will list all your options both with us and with the other suppliers.

Hope this helps and sorry if I've misunderstood your post.

I'm thinking of switching to e.On. How often will I be able to provide meter readings? (With my current supplier I can do this once a month, which is handy for keeping track of energy use + making sure account is correct)

For me, the v12 tariff will work out about £20 per year cheaper

Hi, If you are registered online with Eon you can definitely enter monthly meter readings, in fact I think you can do it more frequently but not more than once in a 24 hour period or something like that. There is then an energy tracker which also compares your usage with other homes in the area. Hope this helps.
  • Eon Rep:

Are the 1,500 Eon reward points being offered with the MSE Fixed 1 year collective switch specific to that tariff?

Do you offer points for switching to the Fixed 1 year V12?

That is coming up as £1 cheaper a year for me than the Collective Switch, so the points may swing it for me!
