Eon energy reviews: Give your feedback

Did both websites use the same amounts of energy used in KwH to calculate the cost?0 -
Hi Malc
Your website is down again at present " technical difficulties"
Is it just me or does anyone else think the site has been troubled by problems a great deal of time following their recent " improvement " 😰0 -
Does anyone know how I would find out what EON tariffs were available on 7th July 2016? This is for an E7 DD customer.
EON put my dad on a single rate and he has ended up paying more than £600 more. It's been backdated to the standard tariff but I am wondering what was available in July last year to compare what he could've been on, TIA
Hello wincy.
On the 7 July 16, we had three tariffs available for customers with conventional credit meters. As Raxiel says, one was the Fixed 1 Year version 20. The others were the Fixed 2 Year version 9 and the standard Energy Plan. Provided customers had a suitable meter, all three were available with both single rate and Economy 7 prices. There were Collectives on the go but these were only available through third parties.
What were your Dad's circumstances at the time? Had he recently moved in to another property or had a fixed tariff ended? Did he contact us to let us know?
In either case, where customers don't contact us, we can only put them on our standard Energy Plan and the prices need to match the meter. With Economy 7 meters, we can add the day and night usage together and charge at the one rate. We can't just do this, though. We need the customer's permission. Although off peak rates are cheaper, peak usage is charged at a premium rate compared with single rate tariffs. To benefit, customers need to use a significant amount of electricity during the off peak times. The actual amount depends on the region and tariff. As above, with an Economy 7 meter, we'll have needed your Dad's permission to put him on single rate prices.
If he had come to the end of a fixed tariff, we're not allowed to put him on to contracted products, like another fixed term tariff, without talking to him first. Without this conversation, he'll have automatically gone on to a variable, non-contracted tariff to match the meter (Economy 7).
Similarly, if he had just moved in to a property we supply, we're not allowed to put him on to a contacted product without his agreement. In both cases, without this agreement, the tariff should've defaulted to two rate standard prices to match the meter.
Sorry for all the questions wincy but trying to see what might've happened here. If you let me have a few more details, I'll be able to advise further.

I only know about the single rate tariffs, but I think the E7 version numbers match the single rate version numbers.
In which case it would have been fixed v20, certainly that was the single rate version of the tariff at that time.
You'd have to hit up a PCW for the rates on that plan, although the current V21 single is actually the same unit rate/dsc as V20, just without rewards so the current E7 version might be the same.
You're right Raxiel. For customers with conventional single rate and two rate Economy 7 meters, our tariffs are available in both forms although the prices are different.

Prices of old tariffs are on our website through the Tariff Information Labels. Must admit, this is a bit of a long-winded route.

I still can't see my tarrif information, it was working roughly a week ago when i last checked so this is kinda outa the blue, never had a problem with this before, 9 times out of 10 the site fails to display my meters credits, but never this plain block of text just up and vanishing.
Any help you can offer would be appreciated as always Malc.
Cheers.
This is a bit unusual K.S. Suspect our digital guys need to have a look. I've just been across to see them and they need to check your account as they think something there could be causing this. You can either give them a call (they're in until 7pm tonight and from 8am tomorrow), use the new Live Chat service on our website or drop an email to the address in my Profile. I'll be happy to pop over with your details.
Sorry I can't offer a quicker resolution K.S. but hope this helps.

MSE comparison quoted me as "Top Pick" E.ON Saver Fixed 1 Year v7 as £359/yr but when I went on to the E.ON site they quoted £512.31/yr. Whats up doc?
Morning Carrlo.
As gsmlnx says, the quote will be based on the usage information entered. Did you use kWh or a money value? Always best to use kWh.
Also, on our quote tool, did you use the assumed usage at the top of the page or enter different amounts? Were these the same as those entered on MSE?

Sorry our website was down yesterday afternoon FOREVER21. It was back up fairly quickly and is okay now.
We've had some general system issues recently and these have an impact on the website as the two are closely linked. The site itself was okay but couldn't pull certain data from our main systems so we put up the message you saw. Totally understand, it's tempting to see these issues as linked to the website overhaul but, in this case, it wasn't the cause of the outage.
Sorry again for the inconvenience.

Glad we've sorted your complaint FOREVER21and that you're pleased with the outcome. Sorry, though, it happened in the first place.
Just a quick heads up and for the benefit of anyone else that played 'Spin the Wheel,' winners of the £1500 prizes have been told by email. They've until 15 February 17 to accept their prize. Once we've had confirmation from all the winners, we'll make an announcement on our website and Facebook page. Timing of this depends on how quickly winners accept their prizes.
Hope this is of interest.

Congratulations to the winners and commiserations to those not so fortunate. Thanks to all for taking part.

I'm now seeing my credit without any problems however, there must've been some improvement to the website over the last day because now it also shows an estimate of how long the credit will last at current usage.

Just announcing my departure from Eon. I got a 2 year fix with PFP - which seemed sensible given the expected energy price hikes.
I hung on to my v19 till the very last minute!
I'm a reluctant leaver though.
Thanks for all your help Malc. Maybe I'll be back some day. .0
