Hi Leblanc
This sounds a complete mess. From what you say, it looks as though there's two issues.
As the gas meter wasn't registered, I suspect it's what's known as shipperless. This is where there's a connected gas meter but it isn't registered on the network. Looks as though this has been sorted but now there's a problem with the electric.
Although still a pain, a crossed meter is a little different. Sometimes meter details become mixed up. This is where the meter serial number is attached to the wrong supply number. Among other things, this can happen after meter exchanges, on new developments or following refurbishments. Flats or complexes with multiple properties can see this kind of issue, particularly if meters are in a communal area.
As you're aware, sorting this out can take a fair amount of time. There may even be a number of other properties affected. We need to carry out a full investigation to work out what meters belong where. It's usually necessary to involve outside parties and this can add to the delay. We've a specialist team who deal with this and, from the details you've posted, it looks like they're in the middle of sorting it.
You've probably already confirmed the serial number of your electricity meter and it's good you've given regular readings. Once sorted, we'll bill up to date using these readings and offset the charges against the payments already made.
Really sorry it's taking so long to bring to an end. If you've raised a complaint and, given the delay, I suspect you'll be able to go to the Ombudsman now. If there isn't a complaint, you can raise one now and ask for it to be back dated to when you first brought the issue up. Again, I suspect you'll be able to go straight to the Ombudsman.
Sorry again for the delay Leblanc.

Thanks for your reply.
You are correct in your summary of the problems. However, despite the technicalities it should not take the months it has to sort this out! I changed to EON the first week in January! I provided serial reference numbers for both meters at that time.
Apart from the Ombudsman I think that we should all also contact our MP's with these different problems in the Energy Industry. As their mailboxes fill up they may think it is time to elevate these problems and do something more regulatory and punitive about them.
I have just read the most recent satisfaction surveys for the industry and EON is not doing well with regard to complaints and customer satisfaction. Trust Pilot reading is a must before changing over. EON's rating is abysmal. I wish I had read these reports before changing over.0 -

One wonders how in touch E.oN's senior management is with what is happening on its shop floor?

It is the difference between virtual reality and the real world!
I get increasingly frustrated with poor and declining services. As with others I do not have much confidence in Ombudsmen or indeed Government although I will complain to them. Increasingly social media is the way to affect these poor performing companies. Up the publicity through sites like this and eventually consumers will get the message and affect these poor service companies where it hurts.
I search for reviews for most of my purchases and services now and will go elsewhere if they are poor. For example, recently I avoided Harveys and DFS for a sofa purchase. I would not buy a TV from Currys. There are restaurants I won't eat in. Ryan Air is out etc. There are energy companies that I will absolutely not consider like N Power, British Gas and many others mentioned on this site.0 -
Why is this thread dormant when it is the MSE preferred supplier? The MSE deal is so much better than anything that E.on quote directly that I wonder where the catch will be. Will there be problems with the points scheme or discount (not detailed in the Fees & Charges statement)? I suppose the MSE team will be very useful allies if the supplier is less than as good as the word.0

Hi royston vasey
Just thought I'd pop on with a bit of information about any changes to the added benefits we offer with our tariffs. Apart from the unit prices and exit fee, there's not much difference between the MSE collective tariff and the products offered through our website or usual sales channels.
You can still earn Reward points at just over 4 a day up to a maximum of 1500 a year. These can be exchanged for either Tesco Clubcard points or High Street Shopping Vouchers as now. Discounts for taking both electricity and gas plus opting for paperless billing also apply. Lower daily standing charges for paying with a Monthly Direct Debit apply too.
One difference, though, is the Price Alerts. These aren't available with the MSE Collective. As it's a standalone tariff, there won't be future versions to let you know about.
Hope this helps royston vasey. Let me know if you need any more information as happy to help.

The E.on website tells me that the cheapest tariff would cost me £1202pa (E.on Energy Fixed 1 year V16)
The MSE Collective tariff costs £916pa.
So nothing similar at all

Gas 4.039p compared with 2.984p
Electric 13.524p compared with 9.964p
Is E.on not aware of the price being quoted for the E.on Collective Fixed Price?0 -
Hi EON Reps
Please could you answer that query above from Royston Vasey. I'd like to switch my parents to you via the MSE offer but I am slightly concerned by the price differential from the quotes on your own website. Is the MSE offer correct??
Many thanks

Sorry if I wasn't clear royston vasey. The similarities I was talking about concerned the added benefits you mentioned in an earlier post. Mainly, Rewards, discounts and lower standing charges for paying with a Monthly Direct Debit.
The difference is in the unit prices per kWh and the exit fees. Please see below.Apart from the unit prices and exit fee, there's not much difference between the MSE collective tariff and the products offered through our website or usual sales channels.
If the figures you quote are from the Cheap Energy Club then they're right and fully supported by us.
Hope this puts your mind at ease.
