Hi , I did the mse switch on the 17th and had an email a few hours later from mse , I have had no email from eon , I had my electricity with eon and my gas with BG,
I decided to sign up with an online account with eon , so I could see if there was any change on there .
On Sunday when I checked , it had changed to (eon mse fixed 1 collective ) but when I click on the plan , there is no mention of the gas change , just the electricity . is this correct ,
I could do with some help on this please, as I am now concerned that only my electric has changed with the switch
thanksWaddle you do eh?0 -

Hi Fox33
I'm sorry to hear that Eon haven't been in touch - it should have been by now. Normally when switching one fuel and just changing tariff on the other it'll take a few weeks for the fuel which is changing supplier to come across. But as you've seen the electric will have already updated.
To get an update on the status of the gas switch, you'll need to contact Eon - details at the link below.

This is unrelated to any post that I have seen thus far, but I have a bit of a gripe about E-ON and switching to the new collective tariff via the Energy Saving Club.
I was an existing E-ON customer on 'E-ON Energy Fixed 1 Year v9' tariff due to expire on 26/10/2015. I signed up for the 'E-ON MSE Fixed 1 Year Collective Sept 2015' tariff on 16/09/2015, and the info on the Energy Saving Club webpage said the switch would take 4-6 weeks. However, I have had confirmation from E-ON informing me the switch took place on 16/09/2015!!
Why has E-ON moved me across from a cheaper tariff to a dearer one 6 weeks before my old, cheaper tariff/contract was due to end??? Come on E-ON, don't be cheeky - play fair and at least honour the original contract I entered into with you until 26/10/2015 before implementing the change and increasing my prices!
Have spoken to E-ON and they are currently looking into this for me and I'm waiting to hear back from them.0 -

Because that's how it works. You have not switched suppliers: you have only switched tariffs. As you are remaining with the same supplier then there is no 14 day cooling off period.
If you had switched from A N Other supplier to E.oN, then E.oN is committed to 17 day switching (14 days cooling off period and 3 days to switch): not sure where MSE CEC got the 4 to 6 weeks from.
PS I forgot to mention that it is a condition of an energy supplier's licence that switching takes no longer than 35 days from the date of application (RELEVANT DATE plus 21 days where the Relevant Date is 14 days after the customer applied to switch)This is a system account and does not represent a real person. Hi Hengus. Thanks for this - if you're correct, it's a pity the Cheap Energy Club doesn't give the correct information on their FAQ's page:
'How long does it take to switch energy supplier?
Energy suppliers have a cooling-off period of 14 days, which starts from the date you submit your switch, so no action is taken until this period is over. The switch process can take up to 4- 6 weeks to complete, depending on the supplier, although some will now switch you more quickly.
But don't worry, you won't lose your supply during this time. It should be a seamless handover from one provider to the other. All that's really changing is the billing, not the actual gas and electricity that you're being supplied.
Energy suppliers are supposed to keep you updated on your switch (via letter/telephone/email - please keep an eye on your junk/spam folder). If you ever have any queries about your switch, you can always contact your energy supplier for an update.'
and
'I've changed my mind, how do I cancel my switch?
If you change your mind after requesting the switch, you'll have a cooling-off period of 14 days in which to stop it going through.
You'll need to contact the supplier you're switching to directly to do this (contact details are at the bottom of this page). It can take upto 2 days for your new supplier to add your details to its systems, so wait this long before contacting it.'
and
'When will I start paying the new prices for my fixed tariff?
It takes about six weeks for your supply to go live, but some suppliers have now introduced faster switching, which should mean some switches will complete in around three weeks.'
The Cheap Energy Club makes no mention of the differences between changing SUPPLIER and changing TARIFF with an existing supplier! Perhaps this needs to be specified and made clearer for people unfamiliar with the different processes??0 -

Hi fox33
I'm sorry we haven't been in touch about the gas yet. As Dan says, internal tariff switches are fairly quick but changing supplier takes longer. As your online account says you're on the MSE Collective tariff for the electric then all seems okay there. You should, though, have received emails from us about both fuels.
One thing to be aware of is, sometimes, security settings on computers are set high and result in our emails being dumped into junk/spam folders or automatically deleted altogether. Might be worth checking.
Have you had time to check yet using the contact details Dan links to? If not and you prefer to drop an email to the address in my Profile, I'll be happy to take a look.
It usually takes about two and half weeks for a change of supplier to go through. It won't show on your online account straightaway. You can, though, keep an eye on how things are going by using the 'Track My Switch' tool on our website.

Hi lindajill
Thanks for passing on your comments to the mailbox. I hope the email response clarifies things for you.
As you can imagine, it is difficult for FAQs to cover all scenarios, but I've passed over your comments and we'll look how we can make this clearer for users switching with their existing provider.0 -

I logged into my account today and was advised online that a meter reading was required for my qtly bill. I entered the reading and then gave me the cost of electricity consumed for the last qtr. Rather than wait for the qty bill to be generated I paid using my debit card. However if the bill is made up say today and payment not reflected by then will your system just go ahead and activate the dd automatically.
thanks
Hi MABLE. Hope you're okay?
From memory, I think you usually pay with a Variable Direct Debit. What usually happens here is, once a bill is produced, the full amount is automatically taken from your bank about 14 days after the bill.
The online message you've seen means the account has gone in to what we call the 'Billing Window.' For quarterly billed customers, this is open 14 days either side of the next bill date. The first set of readings entered when accounts are in this window automatically creates a bill. After that, readings entered won't create a bill unless you actively ask for one by hitting the 'Request a Bill' button.
As you've entered readings during the window, I suspect the balance you saw was the latest quarterly bill. Now you've paid this, the new balance should be zero. As a result, the arrangement in place won't have anything to collect. The only way anything else will be collected this quarter is if you enter more readings and ask for another bill. If you do this, we'll collect this balance after about 14 days.
Hope this explains MABLE and thanks for clearing the balance. Let me know if you've any concerns.

Hi Malc
Many thanks for input. I checked my account online this morning and bill has been generated and the balance shown is nil. I just like to pay my bills immediately.
Also your systems are excellent and I never have any issues. Still not tempted to pay by monthly dd and this is because of my bad experience with my last supplier.
Anyway we shall see.0
