What an absolute disaster my changeover for both gas and electricity to EON has been.
The first problem arose when changing supplier from British Gas to EON at the beginning of January.
We were told our gas meter was not registered and EON literally took about 4 months to sort this out.
Foolishly I thought that all was well and when Money Saving Supermarket publicised a group tariff for EON at the beginning of June, I decided to change to it and received confirmation of this on 5th June. Then the problems started again. EON then informed me I had a crossed electric meter and that they had taken over the wrong supply, so despite me providing readings and paying my electricity to EON by direct debit since the beginning of January my supplier was still British Gas!!
As British Gas had not received payment on this crossed meter, I received a letter from their solicitor saying that they were going to take me to court and gain access to my property to install a prepayment meter.
EON promised to sort out the problem but that was back at the beginning of June. Two months later the electricity meter problem still has not been resolved and all I get is a weekly e-mail stating that " we are still in the process of completing the registration for your electricity supply" and for the past few weeks "we are waiting on some details from the Meter Operatives in your area to get the registration complete as they have not sent over the meter details needed to finalise everything on our systems".
What should have been a 17 day changeover to a new supplier (what a joke!) is now 7 months and counting.
This is a condensed version! It does not include all the hours spent on the phone and numerous e-mails to about 5 different organisations in an effort to sort it out.................and it is still not fixed!!
I don't know where I would begin and how long it would take to construct a complaint to the Energy Ombudsman. I have lost the will to live!!
There really has to be some serious action taken against the absolutely appalling service from these energy companies. The Energy Ombudsman is obviously not the route when the multitude of problems on this site are still going on. I am beginning to think James Corbyn is right. We need a root and branch solution that obviously is not going to come from current Government.0
