Thanks Malc, will try to remain patient.0

Rather than sort this out and bill me correctly, I have had to go through a lot of completely unnecessary hassle and then be forced to pay a bill that I don't even owe, otherwise, someone breaks into my home to install a meter so they can rob me automatically and even disconnect me if I disagree with their dodgy bills.
So, yes, I'm angry and ombudsman or not, I am not taking this lying down!!!0 -
Has anyone else found tha the dates on EON's letters can be as much as a week earlier when they arrive?
It seems like a tactic to give people less time to respond.0 -
I think it is partly the way the computer systems work and partly the delay in posting / delivery.NeverUseEON wrote: »Has anyone else found tha the dates on EON's letters can be as much as a week earlier when they arrive?

Nearly all my letters (from anywhere, not EON specific) usually have a 'date' on them that's at least 3 days (if I'm lucky) to 7 days or so between them.
My way of thinking of it is this:
1st July: Letter is "generated"
Printed out either later that day or next day, and packed in envelope etc
Sent out later that day or the day after, depending on mail system
We are now at the 3rd and the letter has only just been collected, its likely to have a little rest at the sorting office until the following day I think
Next day being the 4th it then gets moved to the appropriate bin/sorting area and shuffled on its way later that day
5th It lands in the appropriate local sorting office for its intended destination. With some luck it may be sent out that day, depending on volume of mail they are dealing with
6th If not lucky yesterday it will be sent out today.
I have no idea on the accuracy of the above, but as I say I do note a lot of official letters are always a few days behind, its partly a price to pay for automation I think.0 -

Hello NeverUseEON and the letter delay is very much as AndyCF describes - thanks AndyCF.
As I mentioned in my earlier reply, there's no way you should pay for energy you haven't used and I'd encourage you to go down the complaints path. If it turns out we've billed incorrectly, we'll put this right and refund any payments you've made which you shouldn't have.

Malc
As I say I've sort of seen things from "both sides" as such so I -try- to be as balanced as I can when I write replies.
I'm really sorry to ask you this Malc, but this , are you able to shed any light on it please ? Specifically the bolded question at the end.
If you're not sure and I need to raise it (I can't phone them its complicated to explain why) directly that's fine
... but I'm just slightly at a complete loss (no pun intended) as to what said monies are meant to be for. I cannot think of anything unless its a delay charge but in that case it should be me receiving it!
Thanks.
It does not ring true to me though somehow. 0 -

Would of been OK if you could not of replied to it but the answer of any description was great.
Hope your EON colleague is making a return too soon, been a bit quiet without her here too.0 -
Yes, please pass on my best wishes to Helena, too, Malc and thank you for all your assistance so far. I really think, were it not for your presence on here, that Eon would be as bad as BG for CS in my eyes. You guys do make a difference.0
