  • Parted with £27.77 for Xbox Live on Sunday 9th March. Got the confirmation email etc but no goods.

The site is back up and running again.

Its amazing how professional it looks, with a valid secure certificate.

    Bunch of scally's

I had a feeling that might happen - it looks like they have jumped hosts judging by the WhoIs. Probably the original host has just warned them about the complaints, rather than taking any action so they have moved elsewhere.

One positive though is that it would appear that at the moment they are incapable of taking any orders.

    You've got to laugh

SSL Certificates from GeoTrust® are the ultimate online security and trust solution delivering both 256-bit encryption and the True Site trust mark providing third-party website identity validation.

I spoke with GeoTrust re this site and they are not interested.

I appear to have been scammed out of £28 also and am currently working with my credit card company to get my cash back.

Also, according to my visa bill the company is based in Panama

Not really surprised they are not interested, they really only verify that the site certificate was issued to an entity who are what they say they are. They do not guarantee that said entity is commercially trustworthy. I am not surprised that the certificate has no Organisation (O) with it so it has had only Domain Validation (DV) checks ....
Look at this and see why they don't offer them http://www.digicert.com/dv-ssl-certificate.htm (and why they - Digicert, don't issue them)

  • Everyone use this form to report them, hopefully they will be removed from this anonymous hoster! webnic.cc/support.jsp
  • Anyone wishing to help get this site offline should report them to their new hosting provider: PIRADIUS NET, which is in Malaysia.

I can't post links since I'm a first time poster, but Google the above company and you'll find they have a contact page, with "contactus@" and "abuse@" emails.

It may also be worthwhile reporting them to Google Adwords, since they were advertising with them for a while. You can find the page with links on reporting by searching Google for this exact term (including double quotes): web search help "A site ripped me off"

It might not get everyone's money back, but at least it may help stop others falling into the same trap.
  • I have been scammed too by instagamepoints.com

  • Another victim here, I've just reported the charge to my credit card who are starting their own investigation; I urge everyone else (if paid by credit card) to do the same. The more credit card companies get on their backs on this, the faster this scam website will be shutdown permanently, or at least blacklisted by the card companies.

    Quick update.
Reported to bank after leaving realistic time for instagamepoints to provide me with a service. Although I paid with debit card (I know stupid) they are sending me a declaration form for me to sign to get the money returned to my account.
