I wouldn't use any website that feels the need to hide its registration details using privacy protection - what exactly have they got to hide?

Also, the site has no physical contact details, just a contact form.

I get the deal from another bargain search site. I usually read review before i make purchase. That site have good reviews so i put it here.

Of course you did Oscar, you just happened to sign up to this site today especially to make 2 posts (your only 2 posts on this forum) recommending the site.

I have posted facts about why the site should be considered dodgy, so that others can make their minds an informed decision about the site - there are a lot of dodgy points sites around and this one has all he hallmarks of being one as well.
  • Hi all,

If you have fallen fowl to the practices of these con artists then file a chargeback against them for not receiving your goods.

Just because they do not use PayPal they still need a merchant account and a way of processing payments. The current company (even though its done on there website) is nmi.com. I have not looked into this company as yet but would suggest you file a complaint with them to halt their payment processing!!

The only other option is to file a charge back against your purchase making sure you have details such as copies of your receipt, Xbox (or whatever) statement to prove you have not credited any codes to the value purchased, copies of emails etc.

A charge back can be filed through a visa or MasterCard debit card under the rules of their programmes. The advisors may seem confused if asking for a chargeback on the debit card but stick to your guns and tell them you wish to file a chargeback.

If the bank are unable to get in touch with them so they can defend their case you should get your money back. A chargeback is not good for business and their merchant provider will stop processing their payments if enough chargebacks are filed through your bank/card issuer.
  • Fell for this for this 4 days ago! Sent emails, tickets and as from last night the site has gone!
Just phoned my bank after seeing all this on here from you guys. one painfully long phone call later, trying to explain all this to a foreign Lloyds call center! I hope to get my money back after 15 days!
The worrying thought is these scum have all my/our details!

Got caught out by this website, paid with a VISA debit card. Contacted my bank, let them know it was a scam and they filed a chargeback no problem; didn't even have to wait the 15 days you sometimes have to provide for them to deliver the goods. Got a new debit card too just to be safe and got my money back today! All credit to Halifax, they handled it great.

Hope this lot end up fined/in jail; or at the very least go out of business. I won't get my hopes up though!
  • Hi everyone i ordered 12months live code from Instant point (now seem to have diappeared) paid 26.99 & got a confirmation email form but nothing arrived. I thought the site was legit as it used varyfied by visa..sems iv been had. I have reported it to my bank & they will investigate & also return my lost monies. The site seem to be trading as sho-pto .net as it has the same lay out....so be aware and DO NOT USE THIS SITE!!!!
  • I also got scammed by the instant-points.net site not delivering a code for xbox live points. While the site has now disappeared I came across sho-pto.net in a Google ad as did the above post.

I believe it is the same site set up under a different name. Everything looks the same plus the fact that it's using a very similar name to the perfectly good site shopto.net. I'd advise not using this site either and I hope I can stop other people losing money that read this.

12+1 month £26.99 is what they advertise
Not sure of your point though I'm still saying don't use them.
  • Hi I can confirm with my own experience that instagamepoints sister website or similar website called sho-pto(dot)net/ is also big scam,, I paid for Xbox membership for reasonably cheaper price and they asked me to download voucher when I entered this in my Xbox account, Xbox said this voucher was already redeemed. then I started looking on website and realize that this is full scam/ fraudulent. my back said I will get my money back , but I wanted to warn everyone avoid using them, This secure SSL they displaying is not even connected to they site, it is only SSL company image for tricking peoples that they are complying with eCommerce standard..I sent them email but no response from them at all, no phone number / or address only web contact form...
