I must admit I do like instant coffee and tend to buy the more expensive brands at xmas, when people are coming over, etc, the rest of the time I buy asda/tesco gold roast - I love it!!! about 1.39 a jar whereas gold blend/kenco etc nearly 3 quid!!! i suppose it all boils down to personal preference really.Marriages are made in heaven, but then again so is thunder and lightning!!!.....getting divorced lol :j

I buy my Nescafe (with foreign label) from Home Bargains for £1.89 =200g. Farmfood and Instore also sell it at £1.99.
Have to say that I like the sound of Tesco's classic rich coffee from lovelyjubblys description. Going to give that a try for sure.AUGUST GROCERY CHALLENGE £58.95/ £250

nescafe half and half is my favorite ,It comes as a bogof in morrisons every so often and I buy loads and loads of it and store it up .
the nicest instant coffee is carte noir but unfortunatley it makes my head ache.
there are some things in life and shopping that you cant compromise on and for me thats good coffee and nice bread.0 -
I do like Nescalf, but somtimes I bulk that out with a shops own brand, not basics etc. range and mix that up in the canister.
I also have a machine which takes those coffee pod affairs. I don't think an own brand of those exists. If it does, though, I wouldn't buy it, as there wouldn't have been any point in buying the coffee maker.0 -

Yay for Kenco Rappor! We started drinking it quite a few years back, cause it's quite strong, doesn't taste too nasty and is relatively cheap compared with other brand names.
Had a bad incident when sent male housemate out to buy instant coffee many moons ago, and instead of one reasonable jar, he came back with two jars of Kwiksave coffee. It was powder. It was horrendous.
On the Nescafe subject, I can't stand normal Nescafe, and Gold Blend's alright, but I grew up drinking Red Mountain, and then later Douwe Egberts, so Nescafe leaves me cold. But oh, the Douwe Egberts! sigh...
I sometimes buy it if I'm doing a quick shop at our local Sainsbury's, as they don't stock Rappor, (well, any excuse!) but then after it runs out, it takes me weeks to get used to the lesser stuff again.
I'm not too snobby with the ground coffee, just having proper coffee is a treat enough for me at the moment!
Yes, I am fully caffeinated.

I think there's a lot to be said about getting used to certain types... I used to like instant coffee (haven't bought nescafe products for years, but did like Douwe Egberts - and the jars are fab for storing stuff in too
)
I like cooking with wine......sometimes I even put it in the food!0 -

You couldn't make it up! It's amazing just how many people who drink this instant dishwater think that they are drinking coffee!
