Got to be columbian proper coffee for me, got a pot with me as I write.............kenyan in the evening perhaps................italian when I need a boot up the butt in the morning.......
I don't drink instant at home, I'd rather have a cup of green tea, I think once you get the coffee bug instant coffee loses any appeal it once had.
A friend recently sent me a tiny bag of Jamaican Blue Mountain as a present :j the coffee snobs on here will know why I am jumping LOL. However considering how much it cost I wasn't in coffee raptures about it.Comps £2016 in 2016 - 1 wins = £530 26.2%

Hi alwaysonthego,
My favourite coffee is espresso but I limit myself to two cups of that each day. Otherwise any coffee will do. I think you become accustomed to a brand and then usually stick to that. Ours at the moment is Nescafe.
There was a recent thread on this subject so I'll merge both threads to keep all the replies together.

I think there's a lot to be said about getting used to certain types... I used to like instant coffee (haven't bought nescafe products for years, but did like Douwe Egberts - and the jars are fab for storing stuff in too
)
A couple of years ago I spent a lot of time in the States, and now I hardly ever drink instant - if there is no choice I ask for it to be made with with milk and sugar - it's a totally different beverage from my usual strong black coffee - more like hot choc!!I usually buy fairtrade or ringtons - occasionally Whittards. It's a luxury - but you get a lot of good HM cups of coffee for the price of a couple of Starbucks!! The best cheap coffee imo is the coop - and it's fairtrade.
If you are trying to get used to a different brand - you may need to adjust the quantities you use: it may be more or less bitter to what you are used to so can change the amount of sugar and/or milk; more or less coffee if the strength doesn't seem right.:money: I heart Martin! :money:0 -
I'm the only coffee drinker in our house (but make up for it by drinking it by the gallon
) and was always a 'nothing but Nescafe' person too, until I tried Lidl's black label coffee (tall jar, black square lid). I love this stuff, and have converted several other people to it too.
I'd probably still choose this over anything else if the bank account was bursting (fat chance!). I'm a massive fan of Asda Smart Price stuff, but would leave their coffee on the shelf even if they were giving it away. Yuk!Eek! Someone's stolen my signature! :eek:0 -
Kenko really smooth for me. Tried the really rich tesco owns but it was to strong for me lol.
Wont ever, ever buy Nescafe (or any other nestle products for that matter) if it was the last coffee on the planet. LOL Cant you tell I boycott Nestle:DGrocery Challenge. £400. - £35.22 + £19.80 + £109.01 = £164.03
Other spends (Clothes Luxuries etc)£11.97 + £1.19 + £7.36 + £69.00 + £38.50 + £5.50 + £23.00 +£2.00 = £158.52:shocked::sad:0 -
I am a life long, well nearly 45 years, Nescafe addict, I don't drink tea so it has to be a coffee I love, I never drink it when I am out as I just hate any other make except..... nescafe, a few weeks ago we were looking at our shopping list trying to find some new way of cutting down, as you do, I said to my husband, if I buy a small jar of Tesco classic rich, would he use up the jar if I found I hated it, he agreed....... I LOVE it! I can't believe that after all these years I have found a cheap coffee that I love, in fact I love it more than nescafe, it is £1.75 for 300g which is a fraction of nescafe, try it ......all you nescafe devotees.....I promise you will like it....if not take it back to Tesco and ask for a refund!!!!look after the pennies and the pounds look after themselves.0
