You aren't allowed operate accounts for anyone else, unless you have Power Of Attorney, or it is a joint account.
You are not still going on about this are you? Little Miss Perfect are you by any chance a traffic warden or any other profession where you love to quote the rules at people all the time?0 -

I go on about this as long as I like when I see it mentioned, because people may be unaware that they are breaking T&Cs.
You are of course entitled to think I should not do so, but I am perfectly capable of making my own decisions and don't need your guidance.0 -
I think you are correct regarding the transfer of £1,500 p/m but you don't need to leave it in there. Cycle it in and then straight back out again if you want
Has anyone had experience of getting the joining bonus without transferring their salary?
Thanks0 -
Is it true that you can just transfer £1500/month to get the joining incentive?
You need to do more to get the joining incentive** Open a 1st Account then transfer your banking using our Easyswitch service (transferring at least two Direct Debits and/or standing orders) and salary/income of at least £1,500 per month to your 1st Account within three months of your account opening and we will add £100 to your account. This offer is only available for people who haven't previously held any account with first direct and is limited to one payment per joint relationship.I spoke to First Direct they said to get the incentive you had to transfer your salary0 -
Thanks innovate- I've got the 2 DDs/SOs covered, but what does "salary/income" mean? Can it be my own faster payment rather than an automated salary credit?0

It's meant to mean Salary, Benefits, other income, etc. You can fund it via a transfer from another bank. The income doesn't have to be direct or from a company.0 -
Thanks- just what I was hoping!0

Spoke to a First Direct advisor yesterday about another matter and I mentioned the withdrawal of the 8% regular saver. He stated that all the staff were taken by surprise by the withdrawal but he expected it to back in March at a lower rate."Look after your pennies and your pounds will look after themselves"0

You need to check your regular saver when it matures. Mine matured last week, but it matured a day early. I complained to First Direct and they apologised and stated that as it was a leap year last year, regular savers are maturing one day early. They gave me a day's interest. They also said that the regular saver will be back in March and they expect it to be 6%. So keeping my fingers crossed. They are not increasing the total amount you can save each month."Look after your pennies and your pounds will look after themselves"0
