Very impressed with the standard of phone agents but the web interface is visually dreadful.
I found the online system sent me in circles with errors but I phoned again and got an answer first time. They set me up with regular and esaver though they didnt appear till today, Im pretty sure I got it setup in time as they said 8%
The monthly deposit thing is my 1 month anniversary I think not Jan/Feb etc and if I transfer DD from more then 1 account that counts as enough for the bonus hopefully0 -
To those who have recently applied to take advantage of the 1st Account opening incentive - do you have to move all your direct debits, or will they confirm which ones you want to switch?0

They send you a letter with a list of DDs from the account you have told them to move from. You can select the ones you want moving.Save £12k in 25 No 49

Opened one 10 days ago, phew
I wonder how long temporary is?
did you know that this account can be open .
1/ without the £1500 deposit every month .
2/ no £10 monthly charge.
i opened 2 last week ,2 days before the closure , i had the advice from a friend on how to open this account without the 2 things first direct say you must do to open this account.
i just wonder how many people made the monthly switch & who pay the £10 charges.0 -
I don't think anyone here pays the £10 charge when its so easy to not have to pay it.
You need to pay the £1500 to get the £100 opening bonus, there's no way around that, and the same for the leaving present. If you don't care about the leaving present, you can pay in whatever you like.0 -
I simply opened it with the 1st Account plus their Everyday e-Saver and popped a pound in it, it states this clearly on the web site
What I was getting at in my previous post was that they said the Regular Saver was being temporarily withdrawn and I was wondering how long that would be. Idle curiosity really as I don't need to worry for another 12 months0 -
They send you a letter with a list of DDs from the account you have told them to move from. You can select the ones you want moving.
So by completing that form, they'll only go away and request a list of active direct debits and ask you to select which ones to transfer, but will not automatically mean closing the existing current account?0 -

The form they send has the list on it already so if there are some you don't want moving you need to tell them.
They don't close your other current acc but they did send a form today I could fill in if I wanted to.Save £12k in 25 No 49

ok sorry i got carried away , i was swept along with the tide !, & realised fairly quickly that i didnt know it all.
can someone please advise me slowly my next move,
i opened 2 accounts one for me & one for my wife, i deposited £300 in each in to the 1st account , which probably now will be in the regular saver now, the real question is i am going to try & get the £125 incentive!, ok £300 has gone in , can i transfer a further £1200 makeing the full 1500 in a month & then transfer for 2 more months & then reduce it down to more manageable amounts with feeding 2 accounts . As i read it , is that £1500 only needs to be paid in to the 1st account for the first 3 months to qualify for the incentive, is this correct?.
The reason i ask this is i have comitted my pension to the santander 123 account last year , so i need the pension to run that account , i have the max £20 g which is returning the 3%.
i can get the £1500 from my building society account & transfer each month is this permissible?.
The other question is how can i achieve the standing order or d/debit , is there a way to pay ones self from say f/d to santander or b/society?, because also i am meeting santanders t/c with my d/d in that bank.
i hope i have explained myself !, i will stop now before i get even more confused.
thankyou.
