  • OK I have managed to contact someone in the bank who was quite helpful, basically the gist of it was...

you are under a legally binding contract and cancelling your card will not stop them from taking any future payments. The banks are aware of the scam and will investigate it only after the have taken the initial large payment after the postage and package payments, you should get your money back but only after the investigation.

The only way you can stop them from taking money is to cancel with the actual company its self, this has nothing to do with the bank until they take a fraudulent payment. If your account goes over drawn in this process you will be liable to pay any bank charges which occur during this process.

The bank will try and block any future payments but what will happen is the company will try again under a different name and it will go through. Again the only time the bank is involved here is when they take the payments, you have entered in to a contract between you and the company.

Basically If I was to set up a monthly subscription (agree to T&Cs, legal contract) for a product to be sent to my house every month and cancel my card if I receive the product the company is still legally entitled to their money and will get it. What these guys are doing is legal, just barely but still legal.

I'm going to phone again today and find out EXACTLY what i need to do to stay with in the terms and conditions, my bank card has been cancelled but it seems that may have been a waste of time...

Is there anyone that can confirm if this is the case??

    Thanks Dave.

You need to call this number 0203 014 4000, I have been scammed by a company showing as premium cleanse on my statement....I found this number from a post below. Thought Id give it a shot as my tablets were also £4.95 each....I asked if they are premium cleanse to get a reply of "hum hum" so they obvoulsy use a few names. They found my account....I was told the £4.95 was only postage costs and the product costs were actually £89 and £95....not what they advertised, their T&Cs are hidden somewhere....my bank will not refund me as they said I should have read the companys T&Cs...not happy but after arguing with premium cleanse they have agreed to refund a whopping £30 only !!! Myself and my partner spoke to this person and told them that this will now go global and will now cost them more than £89 !!!! This is a scary world we live in !!!! This has now left me overdrawn !!!
Try the number as my tablets came from a company in Edinburgh...I bet they have your details...hope that helps

I have also been scammed by the same company, there are a few different companies, I phoned the same number. After a long battle I got a refund of £144 from the £184 taken out of my account as £40 was for warehouse fees (new one on me) just stand your ground to them.
Cancel your contract and get your cancellation ref no's as proof.
There must be more done about these companies they know they exist yet they are still trading.
  • Feeling angry and upset that I was foolish enough to purchase Cleanse Xtrem and Raspberry Ketone Blast as a 'free trial' paying only £4.95 for post and packing. No where on the web site did it say you had to cancel the 'free trial' within 14 days, so consequently I have been stung for £89.00 for the Cleanse Xtrem. Fortunately, I used a credit card with a very low limit, or they would have also charged me a further £95.10 for the Raspberry Ketone as 3 attempts were made to take that sum in addition to the £89.00!

I have spoken to the company I ordered these from (sounds like a call centre in Mumbai) and they say they are an American company, although the address on the website says they are in Scotland. They refuse to refund my money, said the payment was correct but they had cancelled my account automatically as they other payments had not been allowed on my card! I spent about an hour on the phone to two different people, neither were helpful or would grant a refund.

My credit card company say they are powerless to do anything about it as I have 'agreed' to their terms by signing up for the free trial. I have said I want a dispute logged and they will try and fight my corner but don't hold out much hope.

I have since spoken to a very helpful man at Trading Standards and logged the complaint with them - unsurprisingly they have had plenty of complaints about the same company. He recommended that I log the complaint on BBB which is an American Trading Standards equivalent and I have now done this.

I expect that this is probably as good as its going to get - I am £89 out of pocket and will have to chalk it up as a bad purchase on my part.

Buyers beware - this company is known as various names including the following: Cleanse Xtrem, Raspberry Ketone Blast, Arc Labs Inc., Beach Ready Inc. and possibly colon Inc.

Thanks for sharing, you just saved me a lot of trouble
  • When you phoned customer services to return the stuff, when you eventually got hold of them did they give you an authorisation number to return them with or just an address? Just been stung by this and trying to work out if I can just return the stuff or whether I need an authorisation number to go with it. Also did they give you an email to send the proof of postage to?
  • The telephone number for this company is 08000149617, I asked them to cancel my account after was charged £71.23 from my bank account and told them to stop taking any payments, the tel number was given by Barclays bank which I notified about the fraud and asked them to stop any further payments, they offered a refund within 2 days if that happens again and said will dispute the first payment...I am absolutely outraged about false advertising for Ketone advanced and Green Coffee cleanse "free" samples and someone should put an end to it.

And do you think that 'someone' should be someone else?

If you, and others, did not buy these things, the problem would go away.

Another way you could help stamp out this trade is by informing Trading Standards, via the CAB Advice Line, of your experience.

I purchased the "free" trial 2 weeks ago, the web page i went on did not have any terms and conditions, they did not explain that any further money would be taken at all. I recieved the products a few days later. ive never recieved any correspondence at all. i checked my bank this morning and a big chunk of money has gone, £180 which is my rent money. im on my own with 2 boys who both have special needs and i feel like a fool, but i have seen the watchdog programme tonight and was shocked to see it featured. i got on to my bank and they put a block on any future payments. I phoned the company themselves and they cancelled my subscription, even though i argued that i was never aware of a subscription and they wouldnt refund my money. i phoned trading standards but because these companies use their terms and conditions, they stay within the law. well, when was it the law for someone able to withdraw whatever amount they like out of your bank account and not even tell you about it?! its absolutely diabolical, disgraceful and disgusting! i will be lucky to not be made homeless thanks to these cold hearted evil scammers!
  • I really really really wish I had seen this before I got myself added to the stupid list, only found out tonight about the scam from checking my bank and finding nearly £200 missing, this was part of my holiday funds and really do not know how I am going to tell my hubby that I got scammed, I always thought I was careful with this sort of thing but obviously I am not. I have emailed Ketone giving them formal cancellation notice, I have also sent a secure message to my bank which I will follow up with a phone call tomorrow, yes I have lost pounds just not the pounds I wanted.:mad:
  • update, I emailed these people last night to the address within their T&C to give formal cancellation, it doesn't work, I should be getting ready for work but thought I would try something else so found they had a contact page so used that, guess what that doesn't work either, I have a phone number for their customer services that I will try this morning but I doubt that will work either, so if they state you have to do one of these things to cancel and none of them do, surely they are breaking their own T&C and further action can be taken against them? I will not be letting this matter rest.
