No he isn't. Do some research first.

The problem is people take everything they read or see on tv as gospel even when they don't necessarily know anything about the subject but then relay that info as if they are experts. It's frustrating!

    Well, that debatable ....

He has had a bit of a checkered history when he used to live in Germany - not exactly a stranger to the courts

Why should i be warned. I will be signing up once i can get on the thing. In no way what he was doing was illegal. He provided a service(mega upload) just the same as google drive, dropbox,Skydrive. At the end of the day its up to the users to adhere to the TOS.

I would pay £50000 to anyone who could prove some people using Dropbox etc, that they don't use it for illegal file sharing

In case you can't find it

I shall now await my arrest warrant

    Racketerring
    Copyright Infringement
    Money Laundering

i never do, but many people were in uproar when the FBI took down megaupload not allowing them to get their files. I think their were threads on here at the time and other forums at the time, so i was just warning others he is setting up another files storage site, which may or may not end up doing the same thing. But if people dont want to be warned then if they lose their files dont come on forums complaining.

I was in uproar because megavideo had every episode of Star Trek a next gen available to stream. Got near the end of series 6 before it was taken down. Still keeps me awake at night knowing I missed out on watching 'The inner light'. Apparently its a great episode, you ever seen it?

what rubbish is a warning. if people what to be in the same boat when megaupload was taken down then good luck on a site run by a criminal read the FBI notice on the megaupload site to why it was taken down.

That would be the same FBI who actually broke and bent several laws in a bid to try and prosecute him? Why do you think he is still free despite having offered to fly to the USA and hand himself over to the FBI?

The original search warrant was not gained against Megaupload but ninjavideo.com which was piggybacking on megauploads service. Megaupload complied with US law enforcement keeping quiet about the warrant and also handing over evidence of copyright infringement. Megaupload was protected by law as being a service provider.
The US refused to hand over copies of evidence to his defence team claiming "it was too complicated to". They are using civil copyright laws as a basis for a criminal case. A New Zealand Judge refused a US extradition request because of that.
