Thanks Aaleigha
The tweed is shedding fluff onto my dresses, that's how I realised they need re-liningso I think it will have to be that or give up on the coats.
I'm sure I've washed one of them before by just putting it in on the wool cycle, then spinning it and drying flattish over a shelf of the big airer, and it certainly survived and looked no worse for it. So hopefully I can get away with it again
I am doing much better than usual with clothes this time - I think it's partly because being close to DF takes away some of the worry about trying to make things do and feeling guilty about wasting money on mistake buys, and also because it's a kind of transition time for me at the moment anyway with wanting to move. I'm saying to myself 'does this fit with my current and new life' instead of 'do I need this'.
Oh, and perhaps I should clarify that the winter clothes means 'stuff I only wear in winter' so dark colour work dresses, heavy coats, jumpers, hats - all the stuff that I layer and wear the rest of the year as well is still in the wardrobe.

Shoe storage sorted for FREE :money:
I suddenly remembered the folding Ik3a shoeboxes I rescued from the garden storage - they were on their way to be charitized as didn't think I had room for them.
They are now stacked up with the doors folded back so that I can leave the heels visibly peeking out... effectively forming a shoe rack:T

I did find a wicker oval washing basket in the back of the wardrobe - I dont want it now so that is being filled with clothing for the charity shop they might as well have it
need to take a leaf out of your book and have the shoes heel out I know what they will be but much easier to get out of the wardrobe that way so a HUGE thank you for that

I know they look prettier with their toes forward but I can't really see them anyway when the boxes are opaque and low down - so turned them round. Sandals stack one on top of the other so I can get two pairs in one box and the prettiest pairs are standing on the top to be decorative as well as useful.

Late back today as went to the supermarket and then there was a traffic jam on the way home due to an accident - looked nasty as there was a fire engine as well as an ambulance and two police cars
.
So not much more done despite another freezer meal - but have tidied the bedroom a bit more and will get onto the paperwork over the weekend. I need to rearrange the files as a temporary measure so that I can also reshuffle other things in the cupboards, and think I will work my way through the files one by one. I've washed two of the wool coats on a delicates cycle then spin, they seem to be fine and are now drying out flat.
Spotted a flat I liked the look of after 'accidentally' opening Zo0pla today - it's already STC but the agents sounded unusually sensible so have given them my details for anything similar. It's a cheaper area of town than I had considered before but could be fine. And now that I'm clearing things away, I'm beginning to think I wouldn't really need a second bedroom :rotfl:

Haha - you've got to have one more room than you actually need! I would love a third bedroom here (this is quite a large Victorian terrace but the bathroom is where others in the road have their 3rd bedroom so consequently is MASSIVE). Realistically though if we had a third bedroom it wouldn't be anything useful like a study, it would just be another dumping ground

No floor sleeping required, I have a very comfortable couple of futons and plenty of bedding. So you will only have to sort out between you who gets the double and who gets the single. And who gets the snoring cat, because big mog will probably come and visit to see if you are warmer blooded or fidget less than I do :rotfl:seriously though I am pleased you have seen something you like - lets hope buyer pulls out
I'm pleased to have spotted that there are sometimes options that would be doable on my current salary. As it happens I have a decision in principle already in place from an MSE well rated broker, because I rang them a few weeks ago to find out how long I'd need to wait to apply for a mortgage if I moved jobs (and the answer was I wouldn't necessarily have to wait at all). So I made it clear to the agent I'm able to buy and move at short notice, and as it happens their office is really near work so I will be popping in to see them next week

Oooh, sounds lovely - I would love a decent size bathroom and particularly one where the bath would fill in under 3 hours. Rented houses with outdated boilers mean I haven't had a house with a decent bath in several years! When I do I am going to spend WEEKS experimenting with every form of bubbles
