Well done on all that sorting
I am rather behind you in that but I have done some more today and now have two bags for the charity shop and three more things I have put in the ebay pile - I am being very choosy there things like monsoon phase eight peruna etc and a pair of handmade shoes (not made for me) and am so enjoying the process - I still have far too many pairs of shoes and far too much in the way of clothing but I thought if I at least find room for it all I can do another cull later
Did you do a cull all in one go or have you had to go back for a second go?

I hope you are taking the opportunity to get some washing done today - its so nice and sunny - I have done my front door curtains and have a load of towels in

what a find that paperwork storage system was - now if I had something other than ring binders that I loved it might spur me on to get onto paper work

I think you are doing so well doing it order I have been flitting - I have done half the bathroom the airing cupboard (because clothes were in they now they are put away) then I did the under the sink cupboard (we had a leak so seemed fitting) I have lent my book out but now I wish I had kept it to keep me on task

have a great day and finish off the chocolate - you will have to at some point anyway so might as well enjoy it today :)

Well done with the sorting Rosa I did our paperwork a few weeks ago - I have a file that my DM bought me before I went to uni, and also got one for the house stuff too. I do like to keep records of all cc etc I've had when I've closed them, just to have a note of the account number in case I need them in the future (we had to get a load of OH's to reclaim charges a while back and its easier if you have the account details at least)

That makes sense Kerri - I was thinking of scanning some old info as I'm sure I can cut down my paperwork a lot (I keep everything... ) but must check what's needed for mortgage applications. Years ago there was a bit of an issue where they wouldn't accept online statements but presumably that's been sorted out now. If I just put everything on the computer as pdfs and back it up on the hard drive that would probably be sufficient.

I need to get some clothes to the dry cleaners (winter coats etc, and a suit that OH needs cleaning, though not sure if there's any point as it currently doesn't fit him). Hopefully doing a CB soon so will have a good sort out - this might be a last one for a bit, in a way if stuff doesn't sell this time, I just want it gone so it might be freecycled / charity shopped.

How gorgeous is the weather today? just makes you smile

I have kinda given up dry cleaning things and just put them through a delicates wash when needed :o. I did get a deal with Tatco points for a while but it's such a hassle to get stuff to and from the cleaners - it has a bad habit of involving a Saturday morning when I'd rather be doing something much more interesting - that I'd rather take the risk/ extra wear. So far everything has survived fine though.

Re suit, I say dry clean it and that way it's ready for Ebay if it still doesn't fit ;)

The weather has been fab here too but I've mostly been reading and tidying so am just hoping it stays for next weekend :)

I've deliberately erred on the side of caution as I'm not confident I can clearly make the 'spark joy' decision instantly yet :D - and I know I'll be continuing to weed things out. I've kept one top I thought I'd chuck and I suspect there will be some more decisions when I have to finally fit things in the boxes tomorrow - I really want everything to go in the boxes and am not sure it's going to happen easily! Though I've already thought of a coat that can probably go and I might give up on a pair of boots that squeak too.

I think I've done three loads today but it's all stayed inside because there's no washing line outside and I didn't remember til after dark that I have a foldable whirligig thing - really pleased I did remember though as it means I can dry more stuff at once :). Which was needed with everything today. I think it should all be dry tomorrow night so I can just iron things and get them into the new lidded boxes... I hope...

I've just looked up the company as I hadn't heard of them before - turns out they are direct selling only - anyway it's like these :)https://www.phoenix-trading.co.uk/web/corp/area/shop-online/category/organiser-boxes/?bid=8f11d8fe7302164efab3e75aaeab2d6875f3de33&search=false&sortorder=1&itemsperpage=12

I think it's partly because the order just fits for me anyway - I did the bathroom first too just because it's so tiny, and the clothes are a priority for me because that's the biggest issue besides my study files. As it happens now that I've reshuffled the clothes I want to free up the documents space in the wardrobe for bedding so it's just a logical step. I'm not sure I will manage to stick to the rest of the plan!

Isn't it a lovely feeling when you have a section sorted though :)

Well I think every item of clothing in the house has now been washed  the living room is stuffed with airers, the sofa is covered with bags and the floor is covered with boxes :rotfl:. Just waiting for the winter stuff to dry off so that it can be packed away tomorrow. I think I have the summer stuff sorted except for knitted wraps which is a bit of a nuisance... I have no more shelf or drawer space, they can't hang on hooks as it pulls them out of shape and I don't like folding them over trouser hangers either. I think I've seen a hanger in Wilk0s where you can pull things through a circle so will maybe get one of those to try tomorrow. The other thing I will probably need is a shoe rack as I can't fit them all on the floor of the wardrobe neatly.

Popped out to the retail park today and picked up a new shower curtain - very pretty one that I have wanted for ages and kept telling myself I didn't need, but it's already made me smile every time I've walked into the bathroom so I think it's going to be worth every penny :). I've also deep-cleaned my bedroom and managed to get rid of a set of stacked storage boxes by reshuffling and ditching things, so pleased about that. I'm reminding myself that the more I sort things now the easier it will be when I move and so much nicer to arrive somewhere with only the things I really want, not dragging along baggage from my past.

What I haven't done is any studying :o so I shall have to get onto that!

And I haven't spent much - only gifts which are covered anyway and the couple of house things going along with the sorting process - so a fairly MSE weekend :)

I don't dry clean very much but i have a winter coat from FF I got a couple of years ago in the sales and it's down filled, it was a fab bargain and i've been very glad of it in the cold winter months but its deff due a clean now and I don't want to risk wasting it in the machine. So with that, OH suit and perhaps a winter coat he wears to work that should be all. I think I have a discount on O2 or via OH work scheme so that should help.

No washing line here so I just stick out the clothes airer in the garden, although I seemed to have too much for it today so socks also hanging off the garden furniture :D

I have one of those hangers with round holes in I got mine from Ikea and actually wondered what it would look like as a piece of art with all my scarves hanging through it - or is that a bit Tracey Emin

as for a shoe rack I found some planks in the shed just the right size and put them in wardrobe with bricks in between - just right for shoes and cost nothing

now get that studying done :)

Well I'm a little bemused to report that I think I am going to be able to fit all my winter clothes in one lidded 50l box  which should mean there will be plenty of room in the other one with the boots . Just so's you realised how amazing this is, I used to have two wardrobes to myself and still use underbed storage boxes :rotfl:.

I've finished ironing and de-bobbling and folding stuff today and the only clothes left to sort are my woollen coats - two of them need relining and the other one is shedding dreadfully (I think it's lower quality tweed than the first two  ) so think I will just put them through a delicates wash rather than pay out for dry cleaning. I must try and find somewhere that will do the relining without charging more than the coat cost, as it's beyond me or my mum :( . Decided I ought to polish the boots before they get put away so will do that tomorrow night.

I've put a couple of things aside to try on as I wasn't sure I wanted them and this time I've been really trying to think "will I be pleased to see this in six months time" not "what if I need it, what if I'm invited to, what if I'm skint next winter, what if I don't have time to go shopping" (< yes, all of the above happens, never claimed to be sane... ). All things I haven't worn in years - including a t-shirt that I've probably now had for half my life and hardly worn so I think it might be time to accept that high necked slogan t-shirts have not been a good idea since I went past a C cup :rotfl:. I'm ignoring the side issue of whether I can fit into things and assuming that I really am going to keep going to dance classes and get running by next winter :o .

The knitted wraps are now on a wide velvet trouser hanger which Wilk0s have kindly invented since the last time I did a proper clearout. I think some kind of shoe-shelf is probably in order but no longer have a garden to raid for bricks and things :( so will go and have a wander round the furniture charity shops and possibly the sales to see what I can find. KonMari definitely has a point about keeping everything in view... I think part of the reason I ended up with so much stuff was that it was out of sight so very easy to put off making a decision about it.

Still haven't done any studying :o as I stayed late at work and have had emergency freezer curry for tea to leave time for sorting... but it's mostly done now so will get onto study tomorrow evening.

So still just happily plodding :)

In other news I have just realised that my washing machine has a timer delay on it so could potentially get a load done before I get up... dunno how I've managed to blondely ignore that up til now...

I often run mine over night
Means I can put a load out before I go out

I can't believe you are being so good with all your clothing

If you have a local fabric shop ask them if the do alterations also ask at dry cleaners and any shops with notice boards
I do have coats without linings would that be a possibility you could get some nice ribbon to cover the seams and hems

Please let us know how the coats come out I have not been brave enough to wash mine
