Purring cats are wonderful = but I have a tiny russian toy terrier (Mishka) who loves to type messages for me - problem is I am sure he does not understand get off = perhaps its because he is russian
I looked up the breed and your terrier is smaller than my little cat! She has no excuse though, as far as I know she's a local moggielove the fact you are getting an unexpected payrise - as you say not a lot but so much better than you were thinking it would be this year
Yes, very truetrying to remember I am ahead of where I expected to be.

Well I have been a bit unco-ordinated today and made three trips in the car when I could probably have done them all in one - but feel I've got lots done
. Charity shop stuff has now all been removed from the house and my car is fit for guests for the first time in weeks - even if the house isn't yet. The 3bay stuff is all done and together and I will hopefully get some photos done next Saturday if not before. There are a few things I am not sure will really be worth the hassle, so will check potential sale prices and anything I decide not to sell will just be another bonus for the charity shop. Am impressed that I didn't even look at anything else in the charity shops, just did drop off and leave - because I know what I've got now and I don't need anything else!
I am really pleased to have got this much sorted - it feels Long Overdue - and kind of wish I had another couple of days free to get it all finished, but it's not worth taking more leave so will just carry on more slowly.

Well the desk that was damaged and the supplier said for me to keep has now been collected - I could've sold it but thought it was nice to Freecycle it instead. So glad its gone as the box was an eyesore in the living room and it feels like that long saga is now over. Woman was lucky to get it in the car though - had a 7-seater but three kids in the back (they went off being told to duck as the box was going to rested on the back of their seats )
Charity stuff here is now in the car - bag of clothes and a couple of pictures - usually a challenge to get a parking space outside the shop so I will have to try and go at a 'quiet' time.
Runner beans still not sprouted (yes I'm inpatient) but I do have a banana and choc loaf in the oven and have made HM hummus tonight. Was a Jamie O recipe, I often find his a bit faffy (I'm a Nigella girl me) but this was simple, quick and REALLY yummy - highly recommend it.

Hijacks welcome
 to car safety though! One emergency stop = three kids with head injuries, doesn't bear thinking about!
Same problem here with parking outside the charity shop. The one I prefer is on the main street and there is a bay outside but it's not always free and my parking is rubbish so I can only manage it if there's basically at least 1 1/2 spaces length. If I can't get that on the second time round the block it goes to another one that has easy parking out front! Although today it was all light stuff so I parked at the supermarket and just walked over there with a collection of carrier bags.

Well thank you for the kick up the **** people, I'm pleased to report that I have now pulled together all the stuff for my dissertation, emailed for the fine details I don't have, and written an outline version which means I now have a plan. I will be taking stuff with me to work on when travelling tomorrow.
I feel a lot better now I know where I'm at and that it's all doable, but also noticed that I'd been putting off looking at things in case it wasn't. That probably makes no sense so I shall try and explain... I am so used to basically doing too much and managing to get through things somehow that I have a) not been able to keep organised and b) have probably avoided trying to be, because it would reveal how silly the whole situation really is. So I've been doing a bit of an ostrich thang - "I'm putting off looking at what's needed in case it turns out I haven't done something or can't do something and it all goes horribly wrong"... which yes, logically means that things are more likely to go horribly wrong because I have less time to predict and fix them. I never claimed to be sensible. It also hasn't helped that I have basically been far more ill than I realised, and gradually felt grottier and grottier and really couldn't do as much as I could before, which made me more anxious, which vicious circle etc.
The clearout is really helping as it's catching up with a lot of things that should have been done a couple of years ago, and weren't because I was both ill and distracted. Too much of the past has been left hanging around and I think it's time to move on. I'm realising I can do that now, because I have the energy and also I now have (almost) no debts. Plus I'm slowly realising that going back to college means that a dream is back in my sights - in fact it's not just a dream, it's a real goal and is really achievable. This time next year things will look very different.
I said recently that I found I was randomly anxious at one point and I think that's been in the background the last few days as well - it's almost like I've got used to it and there is part of my brain still frantically scanning for something to be anxious about. You know how some people have a black dog of depression? I'm beginning to think I have a little Anxiety Retriever that fetches me things I should have left thrown away :rotfl:.
I hope that it will go away faster as I get rid of old triggers - just as an example, one of the dresses heading for 3bay is one I spent £70 on and never wore. It doesn't suit me, I didn't go to the event I supposedly bought it for anyhow and I don't like even looking at it because it reminds me of being hugely stressed and basically spending to try and make myself feel better. Well it's going now, because I don't need it, I don't want it, and I don't care if I've wasted money on it because it would be equally wasted sitting in the cupboard and would take up space and annoy me into the bargain. Hah.
I think it's time I got back in control and did some ****-kicking of my ownwatch this space

You're doing great, Missus. So great, that I'm willing to share my bag of malteasers... *slides bag over*

Yup! I have my spades worth and several other people's too I think
I'd say pass us a malteser Nora but I don't really like them i'm afraid.
Rosa the desk was ok - it was angled up from the boot we just had to get them to duck down whilst we got it up at the right angle but it wasn't going anywhere once in place.
You're giving me inspiration to get things done - just put a pic up in my office space which we have moved from our living room (it one I took in NY in 2008 - its of a queens subway train going over a bridge above us - would love to say it planned the shot but it was a lucky click on the way to the airport as I suck my hand and camera out of the taxi window) I often avoid putting up pics as I am always worried about positioning them wrong - silly huh!
Feeling a bit off today, was achey yesterday then woke up in the night freezing and physically shivering uncontrollably. Everything hurt to lie down not matter what position I was in. Then had a random rash come up this morning on my neck / shoulders - which has gone now. Still aching in my hips / legs / back in a way I can only describe as 'growing pains' - which it obv isn't unless I'm a very late sprouter!
Still, at least the weather is gorgeous and sunnyFeb 2015 NSD Challenge 8/12JAN NSD 11/16

Thanks Aaleigha
Yes good point - I shall train my anxiety retriever into an organisational guide dog
I feel a lot better for having got over the ostrich thing - it's partly about perfectionism too, so having accepted that I am where I am and that that is OK makes it easier to get on with things. Also very pleased that I am making progress - when I said today that I need to study for the next two weekends, somebody said 'you always do things at the last minute' and I was able to point out that by my previous standards this is not last minute at all :rotfl:and that I have already had a meeting with my tutor, discussed what I will do, written an outline and know roughly what I want to say - for me this is something of a record .
