Nice to know somewhere out there, you were cleaning your home too. You are right, it really shifts stagnant energy. Cleaning is about so much more than cleaning...:)
I hope you have a good start to your week

Loving the "connection and contentment" thing! :T
We came back on NYE - it was slightly surreal - we're used to our Hebrides return trips taking quite a long time - and this time we jumped on a plane at Benbecula airport at 12.30pm and were home here just after 10pm. Very odd! The drive back from Glasgow only took us a shade of 8 hours including stops - brilliant!🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

Good to know it resonates with other people too
I have just done an element of this by sorting the cards and present I need to send and leaving reading the surveyor's report til tomorrow!
I agree DIA, I do think the clutter and cleaning issues are about much more than cleaning. I realised as I went through the stuff that is normally stored above my eyeline that I haven't been cooking in the last year, and I have so much stuff that I bought for having people round and don't use all the time. I am not going to dispose of it, I hope it will get more use in future, but if necessary I will put it away in boxes so that it can be used on the right occasions rather than stored sadly away and looking neglected. So often the clutter we collect is about dreams that either aren't really ours or haven't come true - I intend to revisit both my dreams and my stuff so I'm not weighed down with sad or stagnant energy, but ready for good times

Happy 2017 Rosa. I've been doing the same as you with packing things away ready for a new life.
I'm sorry to hear about the issues with your flat and I hope you do get a significant reduction in rent while it's being put right.
Definitely ready for good times. MTxx0 -

It's that time again... Sunday shuffling
The budget looks fine, particularly as payday is not that far off now. I'm embarrassed to find that eating M&S ready meals while I sort the flat tidying doesn't look to be any worse that my usual grocery budget! Probably because I've been telling myself I am only shopping for the next couple of days and so have not stocked up on the usual extras. I will look at all of this again when I - hopefully - move and have a proper kitchen
The move is still going very slowly just as everyone warned me would happen :rotfl:but no drama so fingers crossed it will all get sorted soon. I decided I would just email the landlord and tell him I'm not paying this months' rent until we have sorted it as I figure that way is likely to get me more than asking! I've managed to get the worst of it sorted and catch up with myself a bit now so although I have some paperwork sorting to do (the dreaded receipt stack) it's all pretty much OK. I must send through ShopNScan shortly but it's beginning to feel a PITA so if I get fed up with it then it will be dropped - time and peace are more important than pennies at this point (and I do feel very grateful to be able to say that).
Had a good weekend including catching up with friends though have to say I found La La Land disappointing compared to all the reviews - don't know what I was expecting, but that wasn't it!

I completely get that thing of ending up owning things that are aspirational, or because we feel we "should" have them. I went through books a while ago and got rid of anything that was on the shelf because I felt I "ought" to have read it - I'm trying to move on from "shoulds" and having books sitting there lecturing me silently was most unhelpful!
As for the conveyancing thing - no drama is definitely the thing to aim for!🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

Yes, I have thrown out an awful lot of heels, nail polish and make up after accepting I am never going to be the kind of person who cares about them :rotfl:

Not a lot to report this week either!
Final price agreed on house, after negotiating £2K less for some work that needed doing and they hadn't made clear - pleased about that even though it's held things up. Annoyingly solicitor is now on leave for a week so I'll speak to his office tomorrow and see how fast things can get done. I also need to check things with the mortgage advisor as presumably that also needs adjusting. Hoping to get moved pretty quickly now and excited about getting to make it my own
Budget is looking a little tight as I have been spending on clothes and going out, and of course it's just after the Christmas and New Year trip, but it's payday this week so not really an issue. I don't think I can bring myself to mess about with receipts for ShopNScan this week either, not for the sake of 50p, so they'll just get the clicker codes again - if I get really fed up with this then will drop the whole thing. I do need to look at new contracts for insurance and broadband, but may leave them til the new house depending how long the gap will be - I do have unlimited mobile broadband so could use that in the meantime. I'll call the insurance company tomorrow to see what they say about the move. No cashback or anything due but did remember I have another payment from the extra contract work coming in February.
So things are happening... I still haven't sat down and made any lists or anything for goals this year, but I am getting a clearer idea of what I want to happen. All good :T

Hello Rosa,
Well done on the negotiations. Hopefully your solicitors absence won't cause any delays for you. Are you dreaming about the changes you'll be making in "your" home?
I used to be the same with the shop & scan, particularly with receipts. I do sometimes take photos of the receipts on my phone and then just email them to my computer which can be a little workaround?
It's understandable that the new year goal lists haven't happened yet but it's great that you're getting clearer ideas now.
