I'm not able to put up christmas decorations either so have been playing christmas songs and have christmas scented candles which is boosting the mood. I've found a beautiful playlist for piano covers of christmas songs as I like it as background music rather than having "IT'S CHRRIIIIIISSTTTMMMAAASSS" blaring through the speakers. I love that song, but there's only a specific amount of christmas songs so they're on a bit of a loop.
When are you going away?
Sounds lovely MT
I am wondering if I should dig out the box of decs after all - I feel much more excited about it now that I'm going away, which is daft because I've got to sort more things now! But the box also has a Sinatra Christmas CD in... as I totally agree Noddy is best in small doses

Well the housebuying is up in the air... the estate agent screwed up, and now the surveyor has screwed up too, and I'm going to have to try and find out whether that affects the valuation! So it doesn't look like I will be going anywhere in January does it!
I'm ok with it though, as I'm OK where I am and don't want to spoil the joy of a new home by moving in still worried about extra costs. I'm assuming the universe is being helpful really and this will mean things work out one way or another!

Thanks all, it will probably be OK, I am just cross. I don't want to post details on a public forum but I have queried something that I don't think should have happened and it looks like I was right. So partly I am glad that I've been checking everything I'm told, and partly I'm fed up with having to do so!

Administer some swift kicks up the backside and if you have contact with the sellers directly it may be worth letting them know about the agents screw-up too - after all, they are paying them NOT to screw things up!
It's a rare transaction that goes 100% smoothly from start to finish, and at least it happening now means that there is still a week before christmas for things to get sorted.

Thanks EH
I have no direct contact with the sellers but have 'happened' to mention the issue to the solicitors - what with being a naive first time buyer- in the hope that such messages may make their way to the right ears!
And a kick to the backside was administered very swiftly indeed - about ten minutes elapsed between someone sending an email and my Super Icy 'I'd like to speak to the office manager, please'...

Sunday shuffle time...
Well the budget looks OK for the moment, and I'm pleased to report that my Age of Money has now reached 51 days! Not sure how long it will stay there, but nice to see!
It's difficult to know what I will need for the rest of the month as plans for the New Year aren't clear yet. I get paid a little earlier than usual so think I will put the standard budget aside for January, and leave the rest available in December in case it's needed. I will definitely need to pay for the moggies boarding, there will definitely be extra travel costs, and possibly some accommodation costs as well. But as I now probably won't be moving until after another paycheque comes in, hopefully it will all be OK!
I still haven't sorted gift shopping or finished cards so the rest is all a bit !
