It's people like you who spread lies and disinformation, your points above are stupid, and you keep failing to answer core questions (as always). Your views are blinkered to the extreme.
Hamish must have VI, rather like the boss of the turnip packing company who just wants the cheapest labour regardless.
I have VI too. I want aerospace specialists; chemical engineers; developers of the next Google. I don't want thousands of people capable of picking turnips.
Time for me to be selfish when I vote.0 -

You keep referring to Immigration being a benefit. Surely there is a difference between controlled and uncontrolled immigration though?
We are all European citizens.
We all have the right to live and work anywhere in the EU. That is a right, not a privilege, and I can't see why you want to take that right away from British people.
Britain has some of the toughest immigration controls in the world for non-EU citizens, and isn't even close to being the main destination for immigration within Europe.
Both Germany and France attract more immigrants than Britain does by a long shot. You still have failed to explain how an influx of Roma from Romania is of any benefit to the UK.
You've failed to explain why it's any different to an influx of French people. Or Welsh people for that matter.
Unless you actually believe all that racist "Unemployable Gypsy" nonsense posted previously...“The great enemy of the truth is very often not the lie – deliberate, contrived, and dishonest – but the myth, persistent, persuasive, and unrealistic.
Belief in myths allows the comfort of opinion without the discomfort of thought.”

It is a technique that has been used by many left wing politicos, councils etc for years. They believe (and sadly may be right) that any argument can be won just by accusing an opponenet of being racist. I do not feel it is a good state of affairs.
Nope.
I just point out the facts, such as someone accusing an entire country of being "unemployable gypsies" is not being rational, they're being racist. Please explain what the benefit to the UK is of an influx of virtually unemployable Roma gypsies from Romania is.“The great enemy of the truth is very often not the lie – deliberate, contrived, and dishonest – but the myth, persistent, persuasive, and unrealistic.

Uneducated with no skills that are of any use to the UK.
Personally I think all countries should adjust immigration to their requirements at any particular time.
I also believe that my first priority is to Britain and secondly to Europe.
The Welsh are British (whether we like it or not).
You still fail to say what is the benefit of an influx of unemployable individuals with no assets.0 -

I live in South London. We have tonnes of immigrants here, in fact I am one myself (now a British citizen).0 -
All Romanians are not Roma, so where have you got that from?HAMISH_MCTAVISH wrote: »Nope.

To be fair, even the Romanians want rid of them.0 -

You are European. I am European.
We are all European.
And as such we have all have a right to live and work anywhere in the EU. You don't have, and should not have, any ability to take that right away from me just because you choose not to use it.The Welsh are British (whether we like it or not).

You've still to provide any evidence at all to prove those people will be "unemployable gypsies"“The great enemy of the truth is very often not the lie – deliberate, contrived, and dishonest – but the myth, persistent, persuasive, and unrealistic.

Without 'unskilled' immigrants, who do you expect to be working for minimum wage in this country? Or have you failed to notice those people working cheaply for your benefit in retail, hospitality, hygiene etc.
No sensible unskilled British citizen should come off benefits and work for minimum wage - it doesn't make rational sense.0 -

I have never said all will be unemployable gypsies. But I believe we should have a right not to allow entry to the ones that are. ie Pick and chose.
Nothing to do with racism etc, just a matter of taking the people that will benefit the UK and rejecting those that will be a burden. (Rather like Australia who seem to be doing pretty well out of it).
I guess I never went for the whole EU citizen bit any more than the hippy citizen of the world thing.0
