Immigrants & Benefits

Peter Hitchin is a pathetic excuse for a human being.
By all accounts it sounds like Boston is a bit of a mare, but what are the police doing? Why aren't they out in force, enforcing the law?
I'm all for immigration and the idea that Britain does not need migrants is utter nonsense, however, what is not acceptable is that 80% of jobs created in the last 10 years have gone to migrants, often because locals prefer to be on benefits than have a job on the minimum wage.
That is simply not right!
Do you have EU immigrants, in numbers, where you live ?"If you act like an illiterate man, your learning will never stop... Being uneducated, you have no fear of the future.".....

Oh, one other thing not mentioned on QT last night, but I've heard before. Many ARE self employed. Reason being, this allows cheap labour and gets around minimum wage.
It was hinted at last night and put to the business bloke. He didn't appear to want to disagree.0 -
It was pretty obvious during QT where the mood of the audience was positioned.
I reckon immigration will be one of the hot potato issues come the next election, regardless of whether we need them or not.

The benefit system is set at arate to acknowledge the cost of subsistence in the UK not Bulgaria.
To Bulgarians the rate may seem like utopia especially if you are willing to claim what you can and doss on a communal hot bed.
Perhaps they should be given the country of origin rate and that should be funded by the EU or rebated from our contribution. a bit like the fact we only get basic health care within europe.
I do wonder just how far you would get in Sweden trying to claim even if you were technically entitled."If you act like an illiterate man, your learning will never stop... Being uneducated, you have no fear of the future.".....

Theres a whole lot of confussion surrounding all this, and like a member of the audience said on QT last night, all you get is people from both ends of the extreme, especially QT last night with the businessman who was so pro-eu and Farage who is obviously anti-eu. You also had someone who was trying to be partial but couldn't help herself but to say the EU is a great thing and start annoying the audience. She made it sound as if Boston had no problem, much to the audience (and a certain speakers) disagreement.
I meant that Farage was right;)
People might not like what he says but he is often right."If you act like an illiterate man, your learning will never stop... Being uneducated, you have no fear of the future.".....

Not to mention "cash in hand" and write down of "expenses" against any potential profit. If of course they file any in the first place."If you act like an illiterate man, your learning will never stop... Being uneducated, you have no fear of the future.".....

Hamish will be along in a minute to accuse everyone of being racist.0

It was also pretty obvious labour and conservative will do all they can not to give us a voice.
Caroline Flint, for instance, was saying there was too much concentration from the tories on looking at an in or out referendum, and not enough focus on changing the EU itself. How can we have too much attention on whether WE get a voice?! She then went on to suggest this is damaging us, and what the electorate want to see (the damage). Shapps wouldn't really answer changing the EU, but Caroline kept going on about it.
As someone in the audience stated, if they think we can change the EU they are utterly barmy.
I found it fascinating that both Caroline Flint and Grant Shapps were both pretty much agreeing, but couldn't be seen to agree. It also appears they know what we want, but are too scared to ask.0 -
The benefit system is the real problem - not immigration. Sort out the benefit system and then we wouldn't have benefit tourists coming here.
Base entitlement to benefits on a person's average UK earnings over the last 24 months (with additional support for those UNABLE to work). This would help to deal with our own benefits class too."When the people fear the government there is tyranny, when the government fears the people there is liberty." - Thomas Jefferson0 -

Yep.
They know they are locked into a club which a lot of the population hate.
It seems its not just big business which have the politicians over a barrel.0
