Not exactly admissible as evidence.
It proves that he hasn't got a !!!!!!! clue where he gets his information from and what recessions they relate to, the first picture is from the late seventies (note the crap dress sense
) and was probably the same picture used by the Tories in their infamous advertising campaign for the 1979 election . Labour isn't working was the headline after unemployment went past the million mark.
In those days the jobcentre was a main source of adverts for jobs, nowadays everyone has a computer to access what jobs are advertised online0 -
Of course the English were immigrants, and largely illegal ones at that - see Bede, Vortigern, AD428 or thereabouts... but that's probably too much fact-based info for some ....
Cheers!0 -

Don't think they could claim benefits, healthcare etc then though. Work or starve was about it.0 -

I wonder whether it would be more efficient to monitor JSA claims job applications via some form of secure web portal.
Quite what dragging someone 10 miles for a 5 minute interview/humiliation, to tell them you are applying/trying with a few sheets of adverts"CV"s adds is questionable IMO.
I accept that initial application and periodic "in depth" sessions maybe necessary.
Just a thought - might even tie in with IDS automated UB claim system;)"If you act like an illiterate man, your learning will never stop... Being uneducated, you have no fear of the future.".....

Hamish yes of course France has English supervisors - however the BIG differences is that they have to speak French as their staff speak French and not because their staff speak English. Its is expected that people who work in the vast majority of France will speak the language.
The case here is that Polish people particularly are being employed in more senior roles because their staff do not speak English.
We do see English crooks and criminal gangs in Spain, however this was predominant when we had no agreement with Spain to extradite them back here and before the European Arrest Warrant. It was close and warm. Now these types are going to Northern Cyprus and further afield to South America or such places. Many people inclined to do certain crimes now realise Spain is not the safe haven it once was. They tended to 'emigrate' to avoid the law and were not really immigrants in the true sense more like criminals on the run.
Here we see people from a number of countries within the EU that are running drug crime, prostitution and people trafficking, that is aside from the general increase in drunken crime, theft, and robbery and social disorder.
How many cases have we seen where we have 'imported' DR's without the language skills who have gone on to cause death or serious injury?
We are already hearing proposed changes to the fact that DR's need to speak English if they come here to work as clearly not doing so it putting peoples lives at risk. Finally a modicum of common sense perhaps
I would also suggest that the vast majority of people who migrate within Europe or even emigrate outside it do so self financing, ie have jobs to go to or money behind them and benefits those countries with their skills and add to the economy.
Carte Blanch migration without certain criteria being put in place to enable us a country to encourage the best to come here and actually benefit the country is clearly not working on a social level and ordinary people are feeling this impact greatly.
Is it so wrong for people to be concerned about it?Dont wait for your boat to come in 'Swim out and meet the bloody thing'
