Do they have English supervisors in factories in Europe?

    Yes.
Do they have 1000's of English immigrants undercutting the workforce in Europe?

Yes. Particularly in the Spanish coastal regions.
Do they have to wait to get doctor and dentist appointments because of an influx of 1,000's of English people in their towns in Europe?

Sounds like a good reason to hire more doctors. See, immigration DOES create more jobs. :)
Do local taxpayers cough up to have leaflets and road signs printed in English in Europe?

We don't have road signs printed in French/Polish etc here.

And yes, many governments in Europe print some literature in English.
Do they have organisations explaining to 1000's of English people how to claim benefits in Europe?

    Yes.

    http://costablanca.angloinfo.com/information/working/unemployment/
Do the local maternity units in towns have a 40% birthrate to English women in Europe?

Many areas of Europe have towns with high birthrates due to immigration. Some of those immigrants will be British.
Are the local papers full of court cases involving English immigrants in Europe?

The English are notorious in parts of Spain, particularly London gangland crime outfits, and yes their crimes often make the papers.

Not to mention telly over here.
Do the EU taxpayers pay benefits for the 1000's of children left behind in England by their mothers?

    Source? Evidence? Proof?
Do the 1000's of English immigrants set up illegal campsites, urinate and defacate all over and eat the fish, swans and ducks in Europe?

    Wow.

    Just, wow.
Are there 1000's of English immigrants driving around in untaxed and uninsured cars in Europe?

There are 1.8 million Brits living in Europe, so very likely.
Does any English women with 10 kids claim £35,000 a year in benefits in Europe?

    Thats a benefits system problem.
Do the 1000's of English immigrants jump the queue for council housing in Europe?

Where do you get this stuff???

It's like the BNP's greatest hits in here tonight.

Immigrants are LESS likely to get a council house than UK nationals.
Does the taxpayer foot the bill for translators for the 1000's of immigrants in Europe?

    Yes.
Do they have English off-licenses,cafes,pubs,nightclubs and shops replacing local businesses in Europe?

    Yes.

You really need to visit Spain....
Do the taxpayers in Europe give £50million a day to the EU for the privilege of seeing their country overrun by immigrants?

France and Germany give more, and have more immigrants.
Do the 1000's of English immigrants children hold back the local kids education in schools in Europe?

What is it with you and immigrants?

    Really?
Do they have work agencies specialising in English workers only in Europe?

    Yes.
Do they advertise jobs where English must be spoken in Europe?...

They advertise jobs where German must be spoken in Germany, and French must be spoken in france.
No, of course they don't because it's all one way traffic!

    Hardly.

There are as many Brits in Europe as there are Europeans in Britain.

And there are also as more immigrants in germany or france than there are in the UK by a long shot.
When you say "free movement of people" - a more fitting term would be "uncontrolled".

Why do we need controls for Europeans to live or work in europe?

That is a Right we all have.

That Mary Beard woman was a light weight.

She mentions a housing percentage, and then the lady in the audience points out that there are people camping out and living in her grounds! Nice one Mary, you missed that issue didn't you.

2011 Census carried a question on how many people were living in outbuildings like sheds and garages. They know it's an issue.

Speaking of Census the help materials were available in over 70 languages. Offering translation services meant purchasing provision from a company with 5,000 translators available. Neither of these things come cheap. I bet this doesn't figure in Hamish's costs either.

Yes, in fact Dr Mary Beard referred to the Boston Council Document "Social Impact of Population Change" and stated that it "proved" mass Immigration can work - she seriously needs to resign from here role and have her head tested immediately.

    In reference to the census data; from that very document;
Many people believe the actual population figure to be much higher than this and use patient registration data and national insurance number issue to support their assertions, others openly share
their belief that many migrants were deterred from completing census forms by landlords.

It really is a huge, out of control mess and the only way to stand a chance of putting things right is an EU exit.

I think we can all agree that mass uncontrolled immigration is a big problem for this country (well apart from the one crazy on this thread who'll selfishly support anything if he thinks it will add another fiver to the price of his house)

Go on then, give us a clue at least! :D

The public sector cushioned the job loss issue immediately after the GFC. There have been 1m+ jobs added in the state sector since the last recession. It makes any direct comparison superficial.

Fair enough, but that process started in 1997 when Labour came into power, many years after recovery had started.

    Not going to happen. :)

  • This recession feels a lot worse than that one, from the point of view that it seems a hell a lot of harder to find a new job nowadays, specially unskilled work.

The problem is we cannot afford to employ more doctors, this can only come from increasing taxation revenues.

Again, you are being selective about the number of Britains in Europe being the same in number as Europeans here. A big majority of those living in Spain and France are retirees and it is the UK government funding their pensions and not the host country. Big difference, even I worked that out with my miniscule IQ :D
