You doing it on purpose now Hamish?

Your argument, via posting pictures was ridiculous to start with, but to purposely choose a picture to suit when clearly there were loads of others, such as the one above.....it's pure desperation.

Er, isn't that the staff, coming back from lunch ?

Can I just say how nice it is to have us all in agreement about something?!

We've even been able to discuss politics without falling out!

That's surely got to show the strength of the feeling. Got to be a first on here too.

    Is this irony...?

    If not count me out.

Do the 1000's of English immigrants set up illegal campsites, urinate and defacate all over and eat the fish, swans and ducks in Europe?
    Wow.

    Just, wow.

By Wow, just wow I assume you mean I must be a xenephobic fruit loop to make such a statement.

However you can be assured that this is a real problem that many in Towns with a large influx of migrants face. You really need to pull your head out of your rear end and start facing facts

Remember Question Time the other night?

There were empty bottles, human faeces, needles"

A real world problem Hamish. Sorry, can't give you the "proof" you need since there is no Tory report for issues that are swept under the carpet.

What is it with you and immigrants?

    Really?

It's not me an Immigrants Hamish, it's me + 70% of the rest of the population and Government Policy

So 'capital' and 'goods' should be able to move freely across borders but not 'labour' - wouldn't be much of 'free market' would it?

What other free trade arrangements have unrestricted immigration across borders ?
No-one would remember the Good Samaritan if he'd only had good intentions. He had money as well.

The problem with socialism is that eventually you run out of other people's money.

Australia and New Zealand, for one.

The GCC for another, which is 6 countries (Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Bahrain, the UAE, Oman and Kuwait) and was largely modelled after the EU.

I'm sure there will be others, but cant be bothered googling.

Does the GCC have unbalanced benfit and welfare, health, education systems such that there would be any point in moving unless you had work? Do they have these systems as we know it?

    Very much so.

As someone that has lived and worked in most of those countries, I can speak from first hand knowledge that there is significant differences between these countries systems.
such that there would be any point in moving unless you had work?

Most immigrants to the UK, 94%, do not claim any benefits at all.

The overwhelming majority come here to work.

And the rate of immigrants getting council houses is significantly less than the rate of British nationals getting council houses.

So I'm not sure why you'd ask that question?
Do they have these systems as we know it?

Social safety nets and public services?

    Yes, they have those systems.

    Hamish, your argument is poor.

When asked if they have the same systems, you claim yes, they have safety nets.

We have MUCH more than that. You are ignoring so much stuff, and it's so bleedin obvious to us all, that this thread has turned into pure ridicule of you. I dunno how you cannot see it.

We do have much more than that.

And yet we also have virtually no benefits tourism.

    It's a myth.

I can see that this thread has been overrun by some particularly nasty pieces of work, making up false claims about immigrants and spouting racist nonsense.

I've posted evidence that almost all of those claims are false, and the rest are hugely exaggerated.

If people wish to continue believing anti-immigrant racist propaganda, that says more about their lack of intelligence or deeply held bigotry than anything else.

Back to the racist position then.
