There is a good reason too for limiting salt intake
Sorry, but that is still no reason to treat the bloke like a child. Besides the OP hasn't mentioned his health. She just has a problem with him liking salt and sauce.
Talk to him about his health if you want OP but, ultimately, the decision is his.0 -
I'm pretty sure its considered rude to the cook to drown your food in salt or ketchup before even tasting it.
OP, are you sitting down to eat at a table? Enforcing decent table manners could help.
Personally, I'd just stop cooking for him and tell him the fish fingers are in the freezer if he wants something to add a bit of texture to his salt and sauce.0 -
My lover often has a meal prepared for me when i get in from work at daft o clock and i have to say that i am most appreciative and she knows it..Feudal Britain needs land reform. 70% of the land is "owned" by 1 % of the population and at least 50% is unregistered (inherited by landed gentry). Thats why your slave box costs so much..0

Your lover? That sound so passionate, so romantic:D0 -
I love salt and pepper and I add it to everything I cook before i taste it. In my opinion everything tastes better with it however unhealthy or uncouth that sounds. It only occured to me fairly recently that other people/restaurants might be offended.0

Food in general tastes better if you season it with salt and pepper - at the right time. Generally in the cooking process. Salt nearer the start and pepper at the end.
But shaking a load of salt and adding sauce - which contains salt and sugar too, as a matter of habit - well that just sounds like hes almost doing it on auto pilot and it doesnt need it at all. Especially if youve already put salt in it!
Maybe you need to 'run out' of the sauce for a while?0 -
I put loads of salt on most things and if someone hid the salt from me I'd be really cross. The faffing thing would annoy me too but if he likes his food salty with sauce that's up to him. DFW Nerd Club member 023...DFD 9.2.2007 :heartpuls married 21 6 08 :A Angel babies' birth dates 3.10.08 * 4.3.11 * 11.11.11 * 17.3.12 * 2.7.12 :heart2: My live baby's birth date 22 7 09 :heart2: I'm due another baby at the end of July 2014! :j
