A very good point, and I apologise unreservedly to any cowgirls who I may have insulted. Oh, there I go again.0 -
CowpersonsYes I agree with you Mr Saigon, as the big supermarkets actually have a monopoly on the parking areas around here as well. The main public parking area in this vicinity is actually owned by Tesco (although they do not have a store here)However this was not the subject of my original post.
I guess that sort of answers my question..
On the point of NCP's they are doing quite nicely I think, they always seem to be pretty well full up (imagine the profits they must make when some of them charge £15 per hour * 50 spaces * 4 floors!) I think if anything the anti-clamping laws are an indication that the powers-that-be are fed up with cowboy companies throwing their weight about.0 -
Guess i might try renting a parking space charging people to park there then wacking them with a charge when they dont comply. Sounds like you make your £1000 money back quite quick if 95% pay up.
Perhaps paying £1000 per year for a unprotected parking place is your own fault try tell the leaseing company that you demand more for your money.
Please tell me where you live because want to park in you spot.
Why?
Because i can.
Hang on let me just get my shield out.0 -
These are not isolated incidents of parking, it is a regular issue. This is not council property or a police matter. The company are not cowboys, as the majority of the people I deal with there are female, and this is the right solution for us.....because it works. And please take more care with your use of apostrophes.
If it is the same person consistently, can you not send them a letter for harassment and then if the don't stop, get an ASBO?
Failing that if no one is around a knife in the tyres might do the trick...
In your first post you said 95% of tickets are paid. How do you know this, because a PPC has never lied before?
You also say that you receive a cut of the invoice. How much is the invoice and how much do you receive?
And why didn't person's insurance company replace barrier?0 -

I will try my best not to insult you, although it is tempting. I know the tickets are 95% paid because I have access to the account. The person who was constantly using people's spaces and breaking locks was charged with harassment and a charge of criminal damage was also suggested. The barrier was not repaired/replaced for a variety of practical reasons, the main one being safety. I do not wish to give information on the charges/commission and I would dearly love you to park there and then witness you justify your position to the users of the parking spaces, the PPC or the bailiffs when they come to visit you. Yes, that does happen because it happened to the son of a very good friend of mine (who used one of our spaces) and at the point that it happened (two years after they received the ticket) I was not able to help them with the situation (although I did try). I would not put a knife in someone's tyres because not only do I not do stuff like that, it would be pretty stupid, because as I have already pointed out, there are security cameras everywhere.0 -

Sorry Fergie, I attributed some of Winnywood's statements to you as I was trying to cover all the questions. My apologies.0 -
Because if they had it replaced then no one would park there. no parking no cut simples.
The op probably broke it on perpose..Guess i might try renting a parking space charging people to park there then wacking them with a charge when they dont comply. Sounds like you make your £1000 money back quite quick if 95% pay up.
