I don't particularly feel the urge to type out longhand my 'angle' as we've had this conversation before in other threads.

Manxred's point is that YOU nor any company cannot issue "FINES" only the authorities such as police and councils can do that. What you send is a speculative unenforceable invoice. I agree some people pay them but that's because they don't understand where they stand legally.

Funny, I picked up a ticket when parked in a residents parking spot.

At the residents instruction, they even filled out the permit. Still got a ticket! The resident even appealed on my behalf, did the PPC listen, of course not.

The whole private parking industry needs taking by the scruff of the neck and kicking into shape. It needs regulating, and not by itself. There is a place for it, but not in its current form by any stretch of the imagination.

If they want to be treated with anything other than contempt. They need to behave in a way that doesn't breed contempt.

Clear signage would be a start. On top of that all PPCs should set there charges in line with the local council.

But most of all, they need to stop behaving like scamming cowboys.
