Wow 3 pages from a thread started today. I got bored after the first page.

This must be the longest run of results anyone from Pompey can remember though. :p

PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

As I keep saying, you can't not notice the signs...if you can't see them then you shouldn't be driving. After a ticket is not paid and 4 or more warning letters are issued the PPC gets their solicitors involved. I think the solicitors write a couple of times and if this is ignored they pass it to bailiffs. I only knew of the situation at this point and my friend's son had not told his dad about the situation before the bailiffs turned up. I tried to persuade the PPC to drop it but as they explained to me, it was out of their hands. Whatever cynical spin you may wish to put on this I am just telling you what happened.
Pass it to bailiffs? Without court?
    Realy?
    bu***it.

I don't know exactly what the actual sequence of events leading to the bailiffs is, I do know that is how it ended up. For you and winny, I state again, I am not a parking company, it should be clear that I am telling you all this from the point of view of someone who pays for a parking space. I am not after sympathy or even agreement because quite honestly I don't care - it's my space, I pay for it, I expect it to be free and the signs are clear. If you can't understand that you deserve a fine, and for all your bravado on these boards I will remind you the majority are paid.

But the 30%-40% that are not is down to the message getting out there, so I will remind you that more and more people are not paying! This figure is going up not down.
When posting a parking issue on MSE do not reveal any information that may enable PPCs to identify you. They DO monitor the forum.
We don't need the following to help you.
Name, Address, PCN Number, Exact Date Of Incident, Date On Invoice, Reg Number, Vehicle Picture, The Time You Entered & Left Car Park, Or The Amount of Time You Overstayed.

You seem to have missed out the bit about the Court.
How did the 'Bailiffs' get involved?

I've told you...I don't know what the process is, I only know that it happened.

The process is, you go to court, win a case, the other party refuses to settle the judgement, and then you apply for a court warrant for a bailiff to execute.

    You'd remember that, surely?
