Hello DFW my old friend...

Evening!
The last couple of days have been pretty rubbish, with a sudden relapse into short-lived but fairly dark depression. Not sure what happened there. Maybe hormones, maybe just stress overload, but thankfully it has lifted a bit today.
My son had to come home from school thanks to an outburst of swearing and defiant behaviour. He has calmed down quite quickly, and all being well, will be back in school as usual tomorrow, as they sent him home as a precaution rather than a punishment.
Also, things haven't been great, relationship-wise. I think we are ok, but the strain of the last couple of busy, stressful weeks has taken its toll on both of us. We could do with a couple of days together, but there's little chance of that any time soon.
My car is seriously on its last legs and I can't find anything suitable to replace it. You'd have thought that buying a second-hand car, when you're not all that fussy or interested in cars, would be fairly easy, but it seems not. My windscreen wipers are held together with paperclips, and my rear-view mirror falls off unless a bit of cardboard is wedged behind it in exactly the right place. The driver's side window doesn't open, and the mechanism that makes the door stay open when you open it (so it doesn't immediately swing back closed before you have chance to get out) has also broken, meaning climbing out involves wedging a foot in the door. It has a huge dent in one side, it's starting to rust in places, it rattles and the car mats are falling apart. It still works, but it's not exactly a thing of beauty!
There have been some positives though.
The house sale seems to be back on at the moment, as a survey showed that a crack inside the walk-in wardrobe was just cosmetic rather than structural (I knew I should have filled it but I didn't get chance, and it would have felt a bit sneaky anyway). Thanks to a fab colleague, I didn't need to make a solicitor's appointment to get my documents witnessed, which saved me both money and time, so it's now just a case of waiting and hoping.
And I managed to go all week without buying lunch at work. I haven't really had time for lunch breaks either, but that's beside the point.

Oh nooo, I typed a post and my computer crashed before I sent it. :wall:
Soooo...as I was saying...
My account is looking a bit scary, only a week on from payday.
I do have an expenses cheque for £43 to pay in, so must do that at the start of next week. This is particularly exciting because I have never had an expenses cheque before!! I feel all grown up.
Bf is doing some choir gig this evening, then has workshops for a Shakespeare production he is writing the music for all afternoon tomorrow and Sunday, followed by a choir rehearsal on Sunday evening.
I won't get to see much of him, but there are two advantages:
1. I won't be going out and spending money, and
2. He had to go out in his suit tonight, because it's an actual performance.
Suits...mmmm...
