Hello DFW my old friend...

Oh dear, I'm not doing very well at updating this, am I?!
I've accepted an offer on my house. It's not as much as I had hoped for, and I think I could get more if I held on for a while, but I just want to sell it now and get on with my new life.
I really hope it goes through ok. There is a fairly long chain, so there's lots of opportunity for it to go wrong. I'm not going to count chickens, but there are at least some chickens now.
No, I don't know how many. I am definitely not counting them.
Money-wise, I am sailing a bit close to the wind, with council tax and dancing fees due for payment this week, and payday not until the week after. Going to have to learn to juggle, I think.
In an attempt to be healthier (and hopefully to save money as a by-product), we have decided not to drink alcohol in February. There was a small slip up on the 1st, due to the news about the offer on my house, but we managed not to drink all weekend, and there are only three more of them this month. :T
I gave up crisps for January. Maybe I should make 2013 The Year of Abstinence, and give up something different each month? December is definitely going to be the month I give up sprouts!! _pale_I'm a Money and Debt Adviser for a homelessness and housing charity in Scotland. Argh, exceeded my credit limit on my visa by £3. Have made a payment straight away but that will have cost £15.

I have basically no money left until payday (15th), with a £222 council tax payment, £40 in dancing fees and £45 in train fares to pay out in the next two days.
I...er...um...
Nope. No idea.
This sailing close to the wind business is all well and good until you get caught in a hurricane!

Phew, rescued (just) by train fares being covered by expenses and bf helping out with council tax payment. Account still looking scary but it's payday in a week, and other than petrol, I shouldn't really need to spend anything.
Heading off to Yorkshire this afternoon (6 hours of driving, eeks) and have packed a picnic to have in the car, to save money. We are coming back up to Edinburgh on Sunday, but the kids are staying with their dad, and then my parents are having them until midweek (at which point they are coming to Edinburgh to stay for a few days and will bring the kids back at the same time).
I'm so tired today. I've been on so many training courses this last couple of weeks, and made so many journeys to other offices, that I can barely remember where I am, or where I'm supposed to be. I used to hate my old job so much though, and I'm loving this one, so it's worth the hard work (I hope).
Argh, better get on with the packing I suppose. Leaving in 40 minutes!I'm a Money and Debt Adviser for a homelessness and housing charity in Scotland. Hope journey went well

It did thanks! It only took about 4 hours 30 mins to get down there, and 4 hours to get back, despite horrible weather on the way back up. It's lovely to be home, but very quiet without the kids here.
Things seem to be ticking over ok, fingers crossed. Finances looking pretty shaky, but other than a bit of shopping, I shouldn't need to pay for anything else before payday. Will be aiming for some NSDs this week!
Doctor tomorrow, to sort out potential health problem. I have a lump that is worrying me. Bit scared tbh, but every time I think about the future, a voice at the back of my head mutters 'bit pointless making plans when you probably won't be here anyway...', in a really sarcastic tone. Need to shut it up, one way or another.
