Got given some extra pots today!:j
Some of my chilli's appear to be struggling a bit. Might have more than 6 casualties.
Got a flower on 1 cucumber plant!:j
However it's on one that I gave away...:(
Gonna have a weekend of planting lettuce, planting my cucumbers out, and repotting tomatoes. It's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.0 -

Not round here they don't.Mine are still the same size as before.
I've dosed the garden with slug nematodes. Hope that works. If you lend someone a tenner and never see them again, it was probably worth it.0 -
so, today was a lot tougher than I thought. All the bees (which are lovely to see) turned it more into an extreme sport than a hobby!
I managed to do the following:- Weeded my entire flower garden (which isn't massive tbh)
- repotted various flowers/bushes
- grubbed out all the flagstones
- threw away all the pots of stuff that haven't grown
- planted out the one solitary pumpkin that had
- planted a tray of salad
- helped my neighbour, aged 3, to plant a tray of spinach
- drank a lot of tea
- watched some tennis
- rip down a heap of ivy
- weed the rather empty veg bed
- plant out some more seeds of something that I might be able to grow
- weed out my teeny tiny front garden
- take some photos

What do they mean by that? Have my spuds had a close call? Only had blight here once about 35yrs ago and these are in flower so will be out in a couple of weeks.
Never had a message like that John and I joined them a few years ago when I first got blight.
Wood wasn't delivered as promised this morning so net result was me sitting in the back of a small van with bungee cords attached to slightly open back doors
By now it was lunch time so roofing sheets plonked on top of shed with the help of next door and the rest of the afternoon was spent in their garden with BBQ and a beerThere's always tomorrow
I can't keep up with yellow raspberries this year, I've eaten loads, have more in the freezer and it's only just started producing. Might try dehydrating some.0 -

I don't know where you live but in my North London garden neither my yellow nor red raspberries are anywhere near ripening. Blackcurrants are doing well though.0 -

South east London near Crystal Palace and they're late this year
You may have autumn ones or a later fruiting variety.0 -

Of my 3 raspberry plants, 2 have leafed wonderfully but one is just a twig. No sign of budding on it anywhere
There are no signs of any fruit on any of them; raspberries or black currants:(

I bought some autumn fruiting raspberries a couple of years back and the majority showed no signs of life until the following spring.
If you're not desperate for the space, I'd give it another few months.
Blackcurrants normally fruit on last years wood and those branches should then be cut back to 10 cm of base in Winter after fruiting, also any old dark wood needs to be cut back at the same time, so if they've been neglected or pruned incorrectly, you're gonna have to wait till next year."We could say the government spends like drunken sailors, but that would be unfair to drunken sailors, because the sailors are spending their own money."

My raspberries are all well established, about 3-4 years with a mix of summer and autumn fruiting but the summer fruiting ones are at least a couple of weeks away from ripening.
Thanks for the info on blackcurrants - I bought that two years ago and have a bumper crop for the first time.0 -

Thank you. I suspect they might be autumn ones.
They're along the edge of the greenhouse outside so not taking up any space reallyI’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Health & Beauty, Greenfingered Moneysaving and How Much Have You Saved boards.
