:hello:
Greetings all, and a happy New Year.
Same as last year really, come and join in. No invitation needed.
Lessons learned from last year:
1. I really, really dislike a slug epidemic.
2. Kohl rabi is nice.
3. I'm not very good at growing leeks, and must try harder.
I got a bit lazy towards the end of last year, and a lot of time was taken up with my new-found hobby of cycling. Must try harder this year.
My garden is currently carpeted in sycamore helicopters, which will provide me with the joy of weeding for many weeks to come. I even considered going out to pick up as many as I can before they sprout, but I just can't bring myself to do it. Maybe I could hoover them up? :rotfl:
Oh well, here's to a drier year than last, and good growing success for everyone.

If you lend someone a tenner and never see them again, it was probably worth it.

Lovely your back for another year look forward to it I need all the help I can get with keeping on track.
Just been outside to see if I could weed my herb bed in the rain, it's 2 square foot and I can stand on the patio slabs doing it but its too wet and I cannot find my garden gloves.
Got my seed order in for potatoes and plug plants for flowers.
Fed up with slugs too using nematode again this year that's for sure.

Our local Morrisons has lots of buckets in two sizes. Eight for 99p, although I am sure they came in 9s two years ago. I know they were impossible to find last summer, so stock up now if you use them.
Thanks for starting the new thread MBE.0 -
Woo Hoo we are up and running. I cleared the veg patch last week with help from hubby and its really frosty today so hopefully that will help to break the soil up. Also bought seed potatoes which are now chatting happily by the French doors. I must think about starting some chillies off too0

Excellent MBE.
Will chip in as and when...glad you like Kohl Rabi - it's an excellent crop to grow and so much nicer than Turnip! If you haven't got it - please don't flaunt it. TIA.0 -

Oh yes, grafted tomatoes. I have to say I thought they were excellent. Really good yield, and a good long season. However, they are expensive, so it's probably more cost effective to grow two normal ones if you have the space. For those with limited space, I think they're a great choice. :money:If you lend someone a tenner and never see them again, it was probably worth it.0
