If Air France has prescence in UK (registered office), which I am sure they do, you can take action in the UK, as enforcement ie sheriffs visitng to collect money or takeaway goods can be affected on offices etc.
Otherwise there is an EU small claims court, that operates (usually on a paper, not inperson basis) through the small claims equivalent of that particular country. It has allowed people in UK to take action against Ryanair based in Eire - see the Ryanair thread especially the good Dr Watson's guide. If you're new. read The FAQ and Vauban's Guide

EU small claims court. Fantastic. I will file there. I hesitate to file in UK because the UK may tell me to take my case to the EU as I am not a UK citizen.
Thank you!0 -

The EU Small Claims Court is limited to 2000 Euro. The problem is that my case is a group of 7 of us who were on the flight and if we each claim 400 Euro that's 2800 Euro.
We don't want to file separately however. My friends who flew with me don't really even speak English (nor French).
From what I can see, French Small Claims would work but they might schedule a hearing, and I wouldn't be able to attend. If Air France has prescence in UK (registered office), which I am sure they do, you can take action in the UK, as enforcement ie sheriffs visitng to collect money or takeaway goods can be affected on offices etc.
The UK Small Claims sounds good, and I know they have an online option as well, but I'm wondering if they will hear my case as it's not really directly related to the UK office of Air France, nor did we fly through the UK.
What do you think? Should I try it anyway? Or is there another option?
Thank you.0 -
Perhaps the answer to my question is that I should file with the EU court for 4 of us and if it works, do it again (if necessary) for the other 3....0

Our flights that I want to claim compensation for are from April 2011, but the online compensation form only allows you to go back to January 2012 - anyone else had this problem, and what did you do?
Thanks!0 -
2giraffes - read Vauban's Guide and then formulate your own claim and do not use the on-line forms.0

Hi everyone, I have tried to claim from KLM from a flight in 2011. I have used Resolver and also contacted KLM through their own website. All I get is an automated message saying wait times are longer than 10 days to deal with complaints. 2 months later, despite escalating, still no human contact. Any advice?0

Very helpful info, thanks! I am now struggling to find an address to send a letter to, or even an email address! Anyone got any ideas before I go cross-eyed on these here inter-tubes, Thanks!0
