I would have thought that with everything going on in the world, this is not their most pressing priority.

no idea....I have been trying to get hold of them for refunds for 2 cancelled flights. One on Wednesday (cancelled Monday) and one for today (cancelled Wednesday)...suspect going to have to involve bank. Some people have had response via twitter (ignored my messages on FB and twitter!)

I have emailed them 5 times including their Communications and Customer Services Director Flic Hudson-Allen, all I have had is a standard reply saying go to "Manage Bookings and follow the prompts" there are no prompts, only if you want to re-book. I also spent an hour on the phone which of course was a waste of time. Dreadful service !!! I am now guessing the best thing to do is maybe contact the credit card company and ask for a repayment.
  • Can you help ...... EasyJet are only allowing online change of flight or a voucher for cancellation of flights. For a refund you must phone customer service and the call is pretty much automatically cancelled. The only option is to send an email to which they advise that a reply will be recieved in 30 days so is unlikely to meet their requirement to provide a refund within 7 days. Why can’t there be an option online to request a refund so that those who really need to contact the customer service phone can get through. Also the chat line is not currently available. I realise they are busy but surely they must do all they can to comply with the legislation and I don’t feel that they are.

They are doing everything not to comply. They've made it near impossible to get a refund, making vouchers the go-to option.

If Easyjet are making it difficult for you to claim a cash refund, email them or send them a letter giving them 14 days to give you the cash or you will start proceedings against them in the small claims court. Mark the email or letter as a notice before action.

Now i read that Easyjet have just paid out £174 million while asking for government support. Sir Stelios himself scooped up £60 million. Clearly their shareholders finances are more important than their customers.

I think they would have a hard time denying cash refunds when they can give Stelios £60,000,000

We shall see ! My first move has been to go to my Credit Card Company to see if they can refund, if not I guess the next move would be travel Insurance and then I think your suggestion of threatening small claims court will be next. I have always found that when threatening this people, companies normal pay up as the costs of the court hearing will be added to their bill along with any expenses incurred.
  • We had booked a short break through EasyJet holidays - flights and hotel and were due to fly from Luton to Malaga Thursday night until Sunday night. We got all the way to sitting on the plane for the pilot to come out and make an announcement to say that he is over his quota of flying hours and that he cannot fly our plane and there is no other pilot available and so our flight has been cancelled… and then walked off the plane! We then checked our emails and received an email from EasyJet saying that both our flights have been cancelled and cannot find us an alternate flight within 2 days and so our WHOLE holiday was cancelled and we will get a refund!!! All whilst sitting on the tarmac!! So this is 2 flights out and 2 back plus the hotel that were all cancelled. What is the best way to claim compensation for both?
