Was your flight U2 6921 If so Eu Claim says you are probably due €250 per passenger. Put those details into bottonline and see what they say, I guess it will be the same. Have you filled in the compensation form on their website? if not fill it in and ask them to send you a deadlock letter if they refuse the compensation. Also, ask them for you flight fare back or you will seek redress through the small claims court.
  • Hello,
There were problems at Gatwick last night and my flight was cancelled. IT issues affecting the whole airport. My flight was at 9pm and was initially delayed to 10:30 (notified at 7pm). Then at 8:30pm the flight was cancelled. EZY offered to put me on a flight 24 hours later, which I accepted. In terms of compensation, travel to and from Gatwick again and a days holiday lost, should EZY offer anything else or is the new flight (or refund) adequate.

    Thank you

Put your details into euclaim and bottonline to see if they think you are due compensation. Easyjet should have offered you rerouting with another airline. Also, they should have put you up in a hotel and paid for all your meals. If you drove home and then back you can ask them to cover the cost but in relation to your lost day your own insurance would deal with that

Flight EZY 1821 from Manchester to Antalya was delayed for 26hrs on 30th June due to a welfare issue on board, a passenger decided he didn't want to travel on the way to the runway.

It was taken back to stand and he got off, the cabin crew told me that he only had a cabin bag so the delay wouldn't be too long. Anyway, within 30 minutes of this the captain announced that due to regs the crew could no longer fly and they were calling out a replacement. Another two and a half hours passed whilst sat on the plane and we were finally told the plane would not be leaving that day and we would be put up in an airport hotel overnight, which we were. Apparently they couldnt get another crew to take us.

Anyway, compensation claim submitted to Easyjet and it has been declined (surprisingly! Lol)

I have put the details into EU Claim website and they say I could be entitled to compensation of 400euros per person. What's my next stage.... send it to the adjudicator?

I assume you have used their online form for claiming compensation. If not fill out the form and ask if they refuse to send you a deadlock letter so you can take it to arbitration. If you have filled out their online form just call them and ask for a deadlock letter so you can then go to arbitration. Seems pretty straight forward from what you are saying. Did they pay for your food as well because they should have? They should have also offered you re-routing with another airline.

Thanks for the reply. Yes, I used their online form so I will give them a ring and ask for a deadlock letter. They did pay for our food but no offer of re routing.

Refusing compensation is a tactic they use because a lot of people will just accept what the airline says so that's money saved. When they know you are serious hopefully they will pay. If not it will need to go to Arbitration, let's cross that bridge when we come to it.

Easyjet refusing to budge on my claim. I have received the deadlock letter so I guess it's arbrition now. I have had a quick look on the CEDR website, it appears like it's done online. What extra forms do I need and can I upload them on that website.

Hi, I have not had to use CEDR but I imagine you just complete the online form. You could wait until Monday and give them a ring on how to submit other evidence. Have you put your details into bottonline yet?. euclaim and bott will take around 30% for taking it on. But you can still use them after the CEDR process if they find against you which I doubt.
