It doesn't appear you are getting anywhere, so as jpsartre says ask them for a deadlock letter and hand it over to CEDR. You are just wasting your time at the moment0
-
I would ask but I haven’t got any contact info except for the web app0
-
So ask them on the web app. I've contacted them through that many times and have always gotten a response.0

Arrived at Luton to check in Mon 25 March @ 4.30AM to see our flight to Rome (Fco) was cancelled. We had NOT been informed. In fact the night before, I’d received email wishing us a good flight/holiday. (The break was for 5 days incl travel.)
Customer service desk said Italian 24 hr air strike. But they cancelled it on Saturday and didn’t tell us, they also knew about it early March I read later online.
Under normal rules ‘it’s beyond the airlines control’ however he did apologise for not being advised and said we could claim a refund or an alternative flight. They didn’t have any available and said we could find another airline and Easyjet would reimburse. I confirmed this when I phoned the customer service dept. In total the additional cost of getting to a different airport, hotel & teplace flights tickets is so far £750 approx. We left the following day losing 1 whole day.
I can’t find a similar situation to gauge how much personal compensation to claim as there was my disabled husband, myself & son who are his carers.
Losing the day made a big difference to our short trip. If we’d known we would’ve altered by adding a day or changing date as everything could be cancelled up to 2 days before.
Another couple at airport also hadn’t been told and they had managed to check their luggage in! So it obviously wasn’t just us and as I’d received communication they had correct email address.
In new to this forum, never used EasyJet before and need some guidance please. Thank you0 -
Please repost on the dedicated easyjet thread0

File a claim for the expenses you incurred rerouting yourself. If the cancellation was caused by Italian ATC strike it is unlikely that you are due compensation.0

I’m going on the fact they didn’t inform us. I’m shocked at the lack of communication allowing us to travel and go to check in.0

With respect to compensation for a cancellation, it doesn't really matter when you are informed if the cancellation is caused by extroardinary circumstances. However, if you can argue that your delay could have been prevented (or mitigated) had easyJet informed you when the flight was cancelled, you might have a case for delay compensation. You'd almost certainly have to go through CEDR or small claims court to achieve this result though.0 -
Did the Italian (ATC?) strike actually go ahead, as planned?
In my case French ATC strike didn't actually occur so flight could have gone and i gained compensation. If you're new. read The FAQ and Vauban's Guide
