    Just a quick note to say that I received a follow-up email from Easyjet today. They have accepted that my flight was in fact cancelled (not just delayed as they intitially claimed), and stated that it was due to the crew going out of hours, and they have agreed to pay me 250 euros in compensation.

    So it is possible to get blood of out a stone sometimes! :D

    Good luck to you all with your claims, just keep trying and keep your fingers and toes crossed that you get the result you want!

    Just wanted to encourage everyone to try for compensation as my experience has been amazingly pain-free.

    I remembered that we'd been delayed on our return flight from Paris to Bristol last April but couldn't remember whether it was over the necessary 3 hours. I scoured the internet and found a website where you enter Airline, Flight Number and Date and it tells you what time that flight landed (I think it was Flightstats.co.uk - but I've just tried it now and it's not accepting historical dates!). I downloaded the MSE standard letter and updated it with our information and sent it off on Feb 25th. The thing that swung it, I think, is that the day after we'd got back from Paris Easyjet emailed me apologising for the delay and blaming it on a technical fault. Luckily, I keep everything and printed off the email and attached it to the letter.

    I got an email from Customer Services on 12th March asking for the last 4 digits of the card I paid for the flights with so that they could credit it with the €750 I had requested. At first I was suspicious as the sender was whitemail@maileu.custhelp.com but I googled it and it seemed to be a valid Easyjet address. Anyway, the upshot is that a credit of £675 appeared on my credit card statement on March 15th!!

    I thank MSE for first of all bringing this subject to my attention and also providing a template letter that I could use - probably wouldn't have bothered if I'd had to compose my own letter! I wasn't expecting to get anything but thought I'd have a go - it only took an hour or so and I got more money back than the flights cost in the first place!! So chuffed!!

    I have been trying to complete my complaint to CAA or Cypriot national aviation authority and to provide evidence of flight delay, I used FlightStats. Their records show the flight as cancelled not delayed so will try one final notice before action letter sent recorded delivery & by email to easy- jet followed by formal complaint to Cyprus EEC &, if needed I will initiate proceedings.

    Hi Centipede I had a 24 hour delay in Sept 2008 but I cannot find my flight number details, any help with this. Tried flightstats but no help. Do I need to quote the flight number in my letter?

    what was the date and route?
  • Hi. Easyjet seem to have agreed to pay out 800 euros for a delayed flight in 2010 but my original card has expired and they have asked for a new card - last 4 digits and expiry date.

    Is this normal practice and is it even possible to actually pay someone via 4 digits on a card and an expiry date?

    I had the same situation, my original card had expired and they asked me to give the last 4 digits and the expiry date of the new card. After I explained again that it was a NEW card, they phoned me up and asked me to give out the new card details in full so that they could process the payment - which then appeared on my account in about a week.
  • We had an 8 hour delay retuning from Paphos in Aug 2008 with Easyjet. I wrote to them on the 27th March claiming 1600Eur. Yesterday the wife got an e-mail (Her e-mail address was on the original booking) and they agreed that we are entitled to compensation.

    Pretty pleased with that!

    I was delayed for 5 hours on Saturday. In order to claim can you send Easyjet an email or do you have to send it in writing?
