I don't think you have any chance with the taxi fares either way. You may be entitled to the fixed 250 Euros each for the unexpected cancellation of the flight, assuming it wasn't due to French ATC strike but that amount is not subject to additional costs for getting too and from the airport. You could of course have got the direct train back to Portsmouth which leaves Gatwick Airport at least once an hour for a lot less, although I agree the taxi monopoly at Gatwick is a disgrace.

I did look at trains but at that time it appeared there was over an hour wait then it took over 2 hours with 2 changes the taxi took just over an hour. Not ever having had an issue before did not even occur to me they wouldn't pay. We have insurance so will try that if no joy. Lesson learnt though. Thanks

I need some advice.I am preparing to go to court with Easyjet next week and after reading the Vauban guide I need clarification on a couple of points.
I never got an "allocation Questionnaire" or instructions for the submission and disclosure of documents to the court and the other side.
I hope this is not going to be a problem...any ideas why I didn't get the above paperwork?

Call the court. Instructions for the timescales for disclosure of papers should normally be in the Order advising you of the hearing date. If it's not, chase the Court. Have you received the airlines papers yet?

I just spoke to Luton Court and there are no instructions from the Judge regarding my case. They could see that the case was reinstated after been struck out without explanations.I hope I am not going to get any problems after having to go to Luton!

Any idea of why I have not received at least the Airline Papers? Is this one the tricks that Easyjet uses ?

If your hearing is next week, I would send your papers to the Court and the other side now. The fact that easyJet haven't should assist you substantially when you go to court. Without papers from either side, I doubt the judge will hear the case.

Should I send them via email? even after been told by the court that if the Judge didn't ask for them is because they are not needed? I can honestly say that i feel so out of depth right now.

I called the court again and the lady I spoke to was very helpful. They have all the paperwork both from us and Easyjet (which was sent to Bott when they were still representing us). I managed to find a copy of Easyjet defense, pretty much they are stating that compensation is not due because we didn't take the delayed flight but we decided to take another flight back to London after been delayed more than 5 hours at Barcelona Airport. There was no other option offered to us ...it will be interesting !
