Really?!?
How much was the judgement for ? It must be costing them more in barristers fees, crazy.....After reading PtL Vaubans Guide , please don't desert us, hang around and help others!

Are they trying to use the recent decision the airlines and the CAA have cobbled together. It appears to me they will have to prove to a court they made every effort to get the passengers away on time. In many cases that could prove difficult particularly for the smaller airlines with little or no spare capacity.0 -

I did think writing to AESA from the UK was a pointless exercise but they investigated Jet2 and said that they should pay €400 per passenger in compensation. Of course Jet2 disagreed so I've issued proceedings with MCOL.
I fail to see how this will help your Court case if it proceeds anything like mine. When I questioned the Judge regarding the (positive) letter I had received from AESA he discounted the letter/content completely saying that UK Courts do not accept the NEB decision as they have no jurisdiction in the UK. The letter probably gives you some confidence to continue with your Court claim but as pointed out to me "it is not really worth the paper it is written on".0 -

Thanks for that 111KAB,
That probably explains why Jet2 didn't cooperate with the AESA, no point really especially if the judge just discounts the AESA investigation.
I wonder if that’s specific to your DJ. I mean the AESA are an independent body and a report from them although I accept not legally binding, seems somewhat arrogant and disrespectful to a government agency to completely disregard its findings.
Thanks for your info though, looks like we all have a massive fight on our hands.

Hi
I experienced a 7 hour delay on a JET2 Flight from Leeds Bradford to Alicante. I wrote to the company using the template and they replied saying that the event was an "extraordinary circumstance" (no surprise there!).
I challenged this and JET2 have responded saying that the delay was caused by "pressurisation issues on departure which were unseen and therefore outside of their control" and thus refuted my claim.
Any thoughts please and where should I go from here?0 -

In their last response to me they are still not giving me the full picture, they keep fobbing me off with 'flight safety shortcomings'. I am thinking about trying the CAA not sure if they will be able to prise the details from them!?! Maybe that is an avenue you could try?0 -
