    Hi
The flight boarded on time for a 7am take off.
Then the pilot said there was an status light he needed to have checked. Eventually we were told it was a hydraulic level sensor that had failed and we would have to return to the terminal until it was fixed. This is a straightforward breakdown which they should find difficult to wriggle out of.
Flight LS258, the return that day was nearly 7 hours late in boarding, so perhaps those people come under the "Denied Boarding" clauses.
I've only just found this forum, lots of advice on the letters to write, addresses etc. I'll be doing a NPA next week when they have answered my last letter.
I will be creating a page on my website soon, publishing all the correspondence. More of that later.

No one has yet gone to Court (AFAIAA) re Jet 2

Hassle? If not bothered at least use no win no fee for 70% of claim.

    Hi
As yet I don't know, the EU ruling only happened last November, so Jet2 are still trying to get out of paying.
My advice is to write down NOW, everything that happened, who said what. Keep your boarding passes and all paperwork they gave you and all about the coffee they bought you..
Then write to Jet2, using the template, send copies of the boarding passes. At least that gets you on the train. then if they do begin to pay, you are on the train.

No hassle if you use a no win no fee. Depends how much you are claiming as well.

Jet2 are denying me compensation for an eight hour delay suffered by my wife, daughter & myself in July 2009, citing the following:
"On investigation, extraordinary circumstances led to the delay of your flight. Compensation for delays caused by extraordinary circumstances are excluded under Regulation 261/2004. More specifically the delay was caused by an unexpected flight safety shortcoming. Consequently there is no entitlement to compensation on this occasion."
Anybody else received such a response?
Are they correct in their response, if not, what is my next step?

Probably not. But as you've not told us why your flight was delayed, and none of us is psychic (AFAIK), how can we say if they're right or not?

Read the FAQs on page one.
