Yopu may need to book these yourself (and pay for) then reclaim the difference from the airline, under regualtion 261/2004.

Given Jet Airways current financial trouble I'd personally be hesitant to do this.

Despite three emails categorically declining the Etihad flight and requesting the Virgin Atlantic one, I have now received a ticket for the Etihad flight.

There are no Virgin Atlantic flights from London to Mumbai, they offer a codeshare seats on the Jet flights that are cancelled. (which is why it was the same time and duration and it was not possible to 'move' you to the same cancelled flight under a different flight number)

Plus Etihad Airlines are a minority shareholder of Jet.

Anyhow, it's not looking good at all for Jet Airways, they have just suspended all international flights. It looks like they are going down the plug hole!

Jet Airways is an Indian airline and doesn’t have any connections to Jet2 AFAIK.

My home has been raided ;).... normal Jet2 service will resume shortly....

A bit of thread drift due to an op posting on the wrong thread.

A few posts need moving to clean things up.

Folks, just a note to say that Jet 2 have paid the compensation element of our claim against them promptly and without trying to cite EC, or any other nonsense.

I hear on the grapevine that others on the same flight have also been paid out.

I will continue to pursue the out of pocket expenses with them, but in the meanwhile I'd like to say a massive thank you to the regulars on here for the support and encouragement to be firm and confident in in claiming. :)

Well done reghedge, remarkably quick payout from Jet2.
    Continue with the expenses claim.

Indeed, a good result.. well done reg hedge

My last battle with them was on my last J2 flight Feb 18 and I’m flying with them again very shortly - now you would think as a regular contributor to this thread I would have learned my lesson :p

I wonder if they are still using Titan ?
