Jet2 26-2-19 Lanzarote to Manchester flight no LS892, according to many on board landed at 23.50 making it 3hrs 5 mins late. Captain stated landed 23.44 making it 2.59 delay. On Jet2 website stated landed at 23.50 also on the arrival board in Manchester stated arrived at 23.50. Can anyone advise how to check the correct time of landing.

The problem is that different sites might record the landing time differently. E.g. flightstats has the delay at 3h05m while flightaware lists it at 2h59m. Both Bott and EUClaim say you have a claim so whatever database they check against has at 3h+. In any case, as NoviceAngel says, the time that matters is doors opening so even if the flight touched down at 11.44pm you will almost certainly still have a claim.
  • we actually touched down at 23:45 dead on to the second i was on count down all the way due to a member of crew and her words of wisdom lol.
However the truth is that the actual landing time is when the first passenger door opens on the plane for passengers to alight the aircraft so the true landing time was actually 23:50pm being 3 hours and 5 minutes late and this is also stated by jet2 on google if you just type in flight number LS892 on its own in google the different sites are endless stating 3 hours and 5 minutes delayed including jet2, Manchester airport's own landing time and then all the third party's.

Small point but your landing time was 23.45. The relevance of the doors opening is the time used to measure whether your flight was 3 hours 1 min or more late at your arrival destination. It would appear that you were over 3 hours late so if the delay was not caused by extraordinary circumstances you should be due compensation How much depends on the distance between your departure airport and your arrival airport

Hi can any of you lovely expert/professional people advice me if I've sent a claim form direct to Jet2 what are the chances of getting my compensation without having to fight really really hard for it or at the least without going to court???? the actual issues where the air conditioning not working up to pilots expectation and computer management failure.

Make a claim on their web site for compensation. Also, check with EUclaim and bottonline web sites and see what they say.

Highly unlikely in my view because of the added complication of the landing time. But, heigh ho, wait and see. They they say no, it's worth instructing a no win no fee solicitor like Bott and Co as even though they take a slice of your winnings, you will still be better off than not claiming at all. But DO NOT use a claims company, only a solicitor unless you do it yourself.

    When you say
("Highly unlikely in my view because of the added complication of the landing time")
do you mean as it was only late by 3 hours and 5 minutes or do you mean due to the problems encountered on the flight???

    thanks in advance.

    Advice appreciated please.

Sat on tarmac at Funchal to Manc flight for 2 hours when captain announces 21 Passengers need to be offloaded (tech problem)and our names came out of the hat.

Jet2 put us on a later flight to Glasgow but due to their insisting on us collecting baggage, then going back to check in for second flight (which took forever) we were under time pressure.

On being handed our new boarding cards we were all asked to sign a letter accepting a free flight as a gesture of goodwill. We were assured that this did not affect our right to compensation, but on reading it in detail its now clear that J2 have pulled a fast one because the wording states that we agree to settle the matter in full by signing and accepting. As far as I'm concerned we were misled, and signed under duress and in haste.

With apols if this has been discussed elsewhere- is this common practice? And is there any precident for overturning this? We've submitted a claim to J2 but I fully expect them to refer to the letters we have signed and refuse to pay on that basis.

Other than this, I'm 100% confident that our case should qualify for a claim for denial of boarding.

    Thanks in advance.
