Flight delay and cancellation compensation, Jet2.com ONLY

Hi guys
I'm new here. I've had a quick read through the thread but so many pages and can't find the answer I need.
I was due to fly home from Malaga to LBA on 19th August at 2030, flight was cancelled due to a problem with the plane's hydraulics and was rescheduled for the following day at 4pm (jet2 put us in a hotel for the night) after arriving at the airport we were advised that they could not fix the plane and a new one was being flown in from Manchester approximately 6 hours later all in all the delay was around 26 hours.
I've put a claim into jet 2 via email today for myself and my family. Does it sound like I will be successful? Would it be 2 separate claims for the cancelled flight and then the subsequent delay or just the 1 claim?
Many thanks for any assistance.0 -
You should be sucessful since neither of those delays are caused by an EC. More likely J2 aged 757 springing a leak.
Download Vauban's guide for the path of claim submission.
You should be eligable for 2 separate claims (per person)
Jet2 will most likely fight both the validity of the claim altogether and the validity of the second claim.
Perseverance is the key to siucess, don't take no for an answer unless the consensus here is no valid claim. If you're new. read The FAQ and Vauban's Guide

Follow JPs advice, just one question for you though. Were you a Jet2.com or Jet2holidays customer ?
I would just add it's best to submit a claim in writing and obtain proof of posting (which is free).
You certainly have a valid claim, so good luck and come back and let us know how you get along.

There was one delayed flight but before that, there was a cancelled flight.0

Yeh, but it all counts as one delayed flight. They were not re routed onto a different flight/airport/operator etc.
It was the same scenario in my case, it just kept getting put back until they got a replacement aircraft. Please read Vaubans superb guide. To find it Google and then download 'vaubans guide'.0 -
I'm not with you on this one, there was only one flight delayed so only one claim IMO.
I automatically read it as JP meaning two claims as they were two passengers..
Yes the OP does say cancelled and rescheduled - if that’s true then one claim but for two passengers.
Blimey it’s complicated when I can’t speak English lol :cool:After reading PtL Vaubans Guide , please don't desert us, hang around and help others!

A question for the regulars,
My Paris flights were all cancelled so that amounted to 3 separate claims.
Two were successful, but couldn’t J2 have argued that the aircraft had been rescheduled for the following day? - it did have the same flight number!
I suppose it would have been unconvincing because there was always another flight leaving the following day. I wonder why they didn’t try to re-route me the following day? Then offer to re-route me again ? That would have been tricky?
Sorry just my ramblings as ever.
Cheers

Have just read back, and I also thought this was two claims as in two passengers. Using MCOL it would technically be two claims, one made by each pax. However, if done by paper, the claim for both can be made on the same submission.0
