I completely agree with what Tyzap has said.
He is far more knowledgeable than me, but my story isn’t that far up this thread. In my case Jet2 defended my claim (they stated the weather was the cause and extraordinary, although there was far more to it) for almost a year. Nine working days from trial they settled. They will fight you all the way if they think they can hoodwink you.
So, as Tyzap has said, issue an NBA and then consider your options - whether that is to DIY a claim or pass over to a NWNF firm such as Botts.0 -
Hi All,
My family and I were recently delayed on flight LS1652 on Saturday, due to depart at 22:40, did not actually depart until 04:40am. The only reasons we were given were "operational reasons" so I am going to make a claim for compensation. I am looking at the Jet2 website online claim form and I had a few questions that I wondered if any of you could help with?
- the flight was 1 way Thessaloniki to Stansted - does this make any difference to a return flight?
- We were a party of 2 adults, 1 child and 1 infant. Does anyone know if I can submit 1 claim for everyone on the same booking ref, or will I have to do 4 separate claims? I am sure Jet" won't volunteer this information to me!
- Does anyone have any views on whether it would be better to do everything by post instead of using Jet2's online form?
Thanks very much

Hi Scozz,
No the two flights are separate.

Read Vaubans guide, link in my signature, your first step would be to write them a letter, the reason for the delay will determine if you have a claim under the EC261/2004 regs.- Does anyone have any views on whether it would be better to do everything by post instead of using Jet2's online form?
Thanks very much
Scozz
I would write to them directly and not use any on-line standard forums, it should make your letter stand out and separate you from other claimants.
Good luck,

No problem Scozz,
There are quite a few regular posters that have a 'special' relationship with Jet2 so you've found the right thread if you need any further help.
Cheers

No they will deal with it, you may get a letter saying 'we deal with letters in the order that they are received' but you should receive more correspondence shortly after.
