Ok finally had a reply from jet2 says the flight was delayed because of
1. French air traffic control staff action
2. 2 disruptive passengers on earlier sector which resulted in late arrival at leeds/brad flight then took of from lba at earliest opportunity so once the flight arrived in crete our own flight departed as soon as was possible.
The above reasons for the delay constitute in theie eyes extraordinary circumstances so no comp.
I may be wrong but when we have flown from lba we have gone over holland, germany not france and surely they knew about the action before
The disruptive passengers story seems incredible as it appears not to be on the lba to crete but on the flight before
Was anyone on the forum on any of these flights our flight was 23/6/16 LS444 heraklion crete to leeds bradford . We have got a customer info letter which we were given at airport which just states flight delay due to late arrival of inbound craft.
Any advice on this would be much appreciated as i dont know what reply to give them
Thanks0 -

Digging on Google will usually bring something up. I found this:

Hi all,
We were delayed by 13 hours on the 28th May during the Stansted lightening strikes. Our flight was ls1466 from Antalya to Stansted, we’ve had a response from Jet2 saying:
On investigation the aircraft due to operate your flight was unable to do so as scheduled due to significant disruption within the fleet caused by a lightning strike hitting the fuelling system at Stansted, coupled with industrial action undertaken and supported by French ATC. Such action and its consequences are not within the control of the airline and cannot be avoided.
Then they go on to say the above constitutes an extra ordinary circumstance.
Has anyone had any joy with Jet2 following the lightening strikes? Is it worth pursuing?
Many thanks,0 -
Try putting your flight details into an online checker such as Botts or EU claim. If you're new. read The FAQ and Vauban's Guide

Hi,
That is exactly the same generic reply they gave to a delayed flight from Manchester to Prague.
How could the aircraft have been stuck at Stansted and also Been caught up in the French ATC strike and the same reason for a flight from Manchester? Further, they do not need to use French airspace en route to Turkey.
They are too lazy to even give a properly thought out reply.
You need more detail from them as it is they who must prove it was an EC that caused the delay, and not you who must dis prove it. Without further detail it!!!8217;s hard to be sure if you are due compensation but something does smell fishy!
Good luck. Please read Vaubans superb guide. To find it Google and then download 'vaubans guide'.0 -

LS316 1st March 2018 Jet2 are blaming ATC restrictions at LBA, Botts have dropped the case as they don't think a judge will class it as an EC.
LS316 2nd March 2018 Initially Jet2 rejected the claim, but Botts started legal proceedings and they've offered to settle.:T:j
LS316 4th March 2018 - No news as yet.
So One out of the three so far and of course all the additional 'right to care' costs have been paid, I just hope we'll have some good news about the last flight! Fingers still crossed.
Just to update about :-
LS316 4th March
AFAIK, Jet2 have been ignoring Botts eventually their patience has run out and Court proceedings have been issued against Jet2 for that flight.
The fight continues......After reading PtL Vaubans Guide , please don't desert us, hang around and help others!

NBA going off today. They did actually send me an email 2 days ago asking for the receipt for the additional car hire expense.
I do wonder who they employ to deal with these claims ...
I know the above is quoted from the EJ thread, but I’ve seriously thought about ‘poacher turning gamekeeper’ and applying for a position at our J2 ! Paid work for me has been very slow over the summer so far, I could actually do with a paid job.
Now that really would be a good, problem is they would never employ me, I’d actually pay all the genuine claims. I’ll have to send them my CV though, hobbies and interests would be an interesting read. After reading PtL Vaubans Guide , please don't desert us, hang around and help others!

Novice - you really don’t need to admit on your CV that your hobbies include making sure J2 pay out under EU261. I’m sure there’s no harm in omitting it0
