Unfortunately I have no idea whether the hearing has been fully vacated. I have given notification of discontinuation of my claim, however.

I think this was an interesting case though. The flight did divert because the aircraft couldn’t land on the tailwinds experienced on runway 16 that night. Of course, all other flights scheduled landed. And on time. Presumably that was because all save one, landed into the headwind on runway 34, as you’d expect aircraft to do. For some reason, Jet2 weren’t permitted to attempt runway 34 at night.

Just goes to show, weather is not necessarily an EC, although I should point out that Jet2 have made no admission of liability.

I thought the original departure of the flight that was unable to land was also considerably delayed due to a burst tire on taxing?

They arrived in the vicinity of SKG at around 22.35 (first attempt at landing), which was just over two hours late (due to burst tyre and change of aircraft). Then they couldn’t get the plane down, because they weren’t within limits for runway 16 and weren’t allowed to land on runway 34 at night. So they diverted to Athens.

They tried to argue weather and that the tyre was irrelevant. But of course the tech issue caused a delay that made a difference between a night and day landing.

    Excellent news PomBear,

Like all of us you’ve had to put sooo much effort to get such an unexpected windfall benefit ;) however, sounds like you’ve enjoyed your journey and your success even more. :j

Presumably all the other cases that were due to be heard this week were settled out of court too?
Once again an airline appears think that the regulations are, somehow, different for them?

I did check the court listings for today. Nothing listed against Jet2. Whether my case was to be heard with others, we will never know. What I do know is that my case was transferred from my home court to theirs...

That’s not to say there weren’t other cases listed against Jet2 this week...

    Looking for some help
We were delayed traveling out form Leeds to Malaga by over 6 hours . The plane apparently had a technical fault which was not reparable. We were then bussed to Manchester, provided with a food voucher. The plane left at 4pm not 09:35 and on com0leti g the Resolver forms whilst still away I was pretty sure Jet2 would be paying out. I now realise it may not be plane sailing, but I have done as asked and submitted via post all documentation . They signed for this and acknowledged in a letter dated 31/5
In that they said it would take some considerable time to investigate fully .
I m unsure how long to give, I know I need to give them a reasonable amount of time before next step
What’s the advice please .. I m sure you ll be able to assist though it doesn’t seem sound like I may need to be ready to fight.
There were apparently 235 people on the flight so would be great to ‘ow if any are reading on here . I do know as we finally boarded a number of people were planning to claim. And I do hope people do . For us a 4 pm flight would have considerably cheaper, but I booked the early flight as we had 100 plus miles to travel and we ended up getting there at 11:45pm exhausted instead of enjoyed the festival for the afternoon and evening
    All advice appreciated
